Wow I stumbled on the store page and for a second I thought I could buy it and download it right now! Nearly sprayed a mouthful of hot tea all over my screen and keyboard...

Wow great. Cant wait to have it.

 

The K-4 and the G-10 are my favorits of the 109.

 

Cool, with the Bf 109 i get my MFG crosswind. PERFECT!!

Now we are talking :) The Me-109 flew in my country's colors (E & G not K though) so I am super excited about it and feel it closer to my heart than the other modules available right now.. The months will pass quickly!

I suspect you would be slightly less glad, if ED gives the Mustang the proper fuel it would be carrying in the period the K was fielded. ;)

And I can still do the same. No matter what fuel, if the pilot knows what he is doing, It would be no problem to shoot down a mustang.

... and in that case it would have the same amount of horsepower (slightly less, actually) in an airframe that is about a ton heavier?

 

The icy grasp of primal fear crawls up my spine indeed. Bottomline is, even the lowest powered version of the 109K has a powerloading of 535 PS / t. The Dora is about 488, the "proper fuel" US mustang would be about 413... and the P-47... ok, let's just leave the P-47.

 

There are not too many piston engined fighter around that can claim the same. Hence why its such a hotrod.

But you also have to remember that Bf109K4 was not the work-horse of the Luftwaffe. I would rather like to see Bf109G6, which was most often seen German fighter in the skies of Europe.

 

Also, you have to remember that P-51 has Merlin engine that is similar to the one in Spitfire(IX)... but despite the weight, the P-51 was faster in a level flight than the Spit.

Yeah, G6 was most produced model of 109's but in 1944 it was already obsolete and being replaced (in western front especially) by G14 and AS models of both G6 and G14, then later in '44 by K4's and G10's.

well, in all it's variants, the 109 is the most produced aircraft of all times (roughly 33.000 build).

 

for THAT reason, i would like to know, how fast we DCS guys will top that number with crashes due to pilot errors :D

I really wanted Bf-109, but I thought it won't be released anytime soon so I choose Dora for my backers reward instead. I didn't even know what Dora is before DCS. , I guess I a am going to pay a lot for this mistake. There are no words to explain how mad I am:mad:

 

 

 

 

 

 

Don't get this in a wrong way, I am not native english speaker. Go ED and DCS WWII:pilotfly:
