got a bit better!

One on the things that was killing FPS were mirrors. After shutting them off it got reasonable better. Other thing that i've done was overclocking my processor and GPU. Now it's functioning at about 15 - 23 fps on the airport and 30 - 40 in the air.

DCS EDGE should help ... right?

Who knows? Maybe not on youre outdated PC, though.:D;) EDGE will be the last hope for my PC config to.

I had this sudden inexplicable fps drop with 1.2.8. Now with 1.2.9 though, it feels, don't know, somewhat improved... But for you folks it seems what happened me on 1.2.8 happened to you now.

Hoping that EDGE will improve both performance and consistence of performance across hardware.

imo it would be a wasted process if edge did not also improve frame rates speeds.

with the addition of multi gpu support , we should see fps improvements.

One can hope. U think an SLi rig. will run this DX9 non SLi supported Sim. in EDGE? What would make it run if it wasn't programmed to support it? EDGE would take that much control over the programming of the visuals? real good news if it works though.

continued tests on my rig.

have to say 1.2.9 been really poor for me in framerates over 1.2.8 , multiplayer is near unplayable, only when masses of aircraft are gathered on parking and taxiways.

mainly virtual freeflight server.

worst build in a long time yet for me for performance.

tests I even ran with most visuals turned off still fps choppy.

Matt said this about frame rates when talking about the Rift. Of course, everyone will benefit.

One of the biggest reasons for the new engine is for improved frame rates. This will help a lot in meeting comfortable performance requirements. We already support predictive tracking and Time Warp.

At best I get 40 fps with no civilian cars / scenery.

and I have to overclock my cpu from 3.8ghz to 4.7ghz

Edit: Drops to 20 if I pan to a small town with buildings.

crazy things

The other day i've been playing with my friends and when i've payed attention on FPS it was at 40 on the ground (airport), got really suprised, but happened never again!!!! :(

Since then i'm testing things to see what is happening but still no results!

Now that is weird.. For Arguments sake We will need to decide on a Set mission as everybody will get different FPS depending on what they are doing and system specs.. But if we ALL use the same mission we can get a base and then go from there.. So what would be a good mission for Testing purposes?? Also having the options and graphics settings different it is hard to figure out what is what as we each have different specs too..

Also setting a base on what the FPS at it lowest are acceptable.. I prefer to keep my FPS above 30FPS in DCSW.. 25 FPS is not too bad but at a base I like it above 30FPS..

I would say try experimenting with your Options in DCSW I know Mirrors and Anti-Aliasing are big FPS killers..

You must have been in a very crowded mission or something is amiss on your settings on your PC like a Driver issue or something??

I have the feeling this game gets worse in performance. I am now running 4.2Ghz because ive been reading alot that DCS is CPU intensive, it uses 32%................. We need some serious optimization for DCS! It is extremly curcial for flying to have a stable framerate.

Please!

can we expect any comment by ED or the mods here, anything ? testers / devs may have certain experience which are the crucial performance issues for 1.2.9 , no?
