rubblebeam Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Just bought the Sabre, I wasn't a fan before. I'm not that interested in the Korean war apart from the Skyraider. But I have to say you guys have done an awesome job with this module. Money well spent. Thank you Good Grief
BurnTheSource Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 I'll second that. The teaser was one of the first times in a while I was reminded this plane existed. Turns out...this is the most fun I've had with a DCS module in a long time. The plane is peppy, and has a fantastic personality. Enjoying the hell out of this.
Scrim Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Yeah. I love this plane, but for me, it took second seat to the MiG-21. But when I started flying it, dang!
Devrim Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 I'm not a fan of it either, but I must thank Belsimtek. Because, although I haven't bought yet, (when glanced at the cockpit textures) I've never seen that much detailed and high resolution cockpit like that! Really good work. Thanks again. WinterH Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 I liked F-86 but not much. Actually I used to think "meh..." about it until a year ago or so, but even then, it could only get to "yeah nice aircraft" level until this module. I like it A LOT now! She's really fun to fly and flight in! :) And it has various ground attack procedures that are challenging to learn and neat to have in such an old plane :) Wishlist: F-4E Block 53 +, MiG-27K, Su-17M3 or M4, AH-1F or W circa 80s or early 90s, J35 Draken, Kfir C7, Mirage III/V DCS-Dismounts Script
Skulleader Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Hello guys, Me too in the beginning I was not a great fan of this aircraft but since I've bought this new module I'm under the charm. Deux days that I have this aircraft but you can believe me, it's a future great module for DCS. Belsimtek has this incredible faculty to do the best modules for DCS, of course the future MIG-21 is very incredible too but this simple little jet named F-86 is really incredible. Since I've this module I spend all my time with him, once again a great module of BST. Now you have my feedback about this F-86F... Bye dear friends, Skull. Yurgon Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Same here. I didn't even want to buy it, but when everybody started posting pics and vids and the first tutorials came up, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to redeem the 70% coupon I'd received for purchasing the Mi-8 right after launch (aka 5 days prior to its first sale). :D So far, I'm having a lot of fun with the Sabre, it's yet another great module, awesome job, guys!
javelina1 Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 A great job on Belsimtek's part. fastfreddie Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Can't wait to try it but why would anyone not want the F86 to begin with. It was one of the last real dogfighters and enjoyed a 10 to 1 kill ration in Korea. Simple compared to other jets/helicopters in DCS and my only reservation to getting it is I don't want to fly against mig ai for the next two years. Things are looking up and with Edge coming out the DCS market is going to be flooded with planes. Hopefully the Mig15 is one of them.
Yurgon Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 but why would anyone not want the F86 to begin with. I can obviously only speak for myself here. First, I love choppers, and the two BST choppers are just totally amazing. I'd love to get my hands on a Hind, Loach, Apache, Blackhawk, Cobra... you name it. :) Second, I'm more interested in modern aviation. The P-51D has been collecting virtual dust on my harddrive, I think I didn't spend more than two minutes with that module. Now, an F/A-18C or E I would buy without hesitation, just like F-16C or F-15 (preferably the E-model). Being stuck without any of these, I'm curious to find out more about the F-86, though. :D
B25Mitch Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 This module has been released in quite a polished state for a beta. Any bugs are usually encountered in situations outside of normal aircraft operations. And there are nice little touches too, like the pilot's head position raising slightly when the gear is lowered, so you can see better for landing.
Skall Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 I was also not too interested in the F-86. Didn't care much for the time period or its looks (still think its a bit on the ugly side) but it grows on me more and more each time I fly it. Really glad I bought it.

You know that the actual ratio was closer to 1.8 or even 1.3:1? :) P8Z68 | 2500k @ 4.5 | GTX 1080Ti | 2x8 GB @ 1600 | TM Hog (extended 7cm) & MFG Crosswind (S/N 007) | TIR v5 WWII bomber formations | DCS P-51D: [TEST] TO distance / gross weight / temperature

For ma part I love the F-16 and F/A-18 Super Hornet but for the moment these two jets are available. The talent of developers and so incredible that any aircraft and Helicopter is really fabulous to fly. I have the A-10C, KA-50, P-51D, Huey, Mi-8 (SU-25A and F-15C) and now the F-86F and I'm very happy to have these modules, for me it's not like all these addons from FSX. With FSX I had many addons but just few addons are good: Dodosim and A2A, for the rest it's good for trash. With all modules of DCS no good for the trash and it's for this reason that I remove my FSX because after to have tested since many années DCW it's impossible to return to FSX. So I can say that I can bought any modules for DCS eyes closed, if one module is PFM + ASM I can pre-order without any problem and it's the case for the Dora and when it's will be possible for the awesome and incredible MIG-21bis. I'm a real aircrafts and helicopters fan's and for me possess these modules it's not throwing money to trash. It's a real pleasure, the hard time and have these modules is a good therapy. Flia Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Yes. Sabre is a Excellentl. Great plane a and great modul. Well done Belsimtek. cellinsky Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Excellent modul!! Very well done. Never had the chance to fly the Sabre in anger since Rowans "Mig Alley". And it fits pleasently well into the current theatre-map. With a little imagination one crosses the Yalu-River...
leafer Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Do tell a little more, please. What's so great about it or most people will just chalk it up to the novelty of it all. :) ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Skall Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Do tell a little more, please. What's so great about it or most people will just chalk it up to the novelty of it all. :) Again, while I'm not a fan of the Sabre as a plane, I'm enjoying this module for the following reasons: 1. We finally have a plane that uses the NDBs for something. Brings me closer to civilian aviation in DCS. 2. I'm not good at dog fighting and don't really have anyone to practice with. Even though its against the AI, I like being able to practice basic BFM without the complexity of prop plane CEM or modern jet avionics. 3. The jet's handling has more personality than I had previously assumed. When I first hopped in the cockpit, I was pleased with the quality but the plane felt a bit bland and humdrum. However it's character has been shining through as I fly it. No doubt there is a novelty component to it and, on a personal level, my long-term use of the F-86 will depend more on the availability of period content than anything else. WWII will be covered with the Normandy map and several period planes. Hope the same happens to the Sabre. 1
leafer Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 I didn't know NDBs are modeled. Might have to start learning to navigate instead of just zooming around aimlessly. :) Period map and land hardware, to me, are just toppings. My main interest are having aircraft air opponents flyable. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
