Mallard of Death
Hello. As the tittle suggest engine sound is missing (for me at least). When I increase or decrease the throttle (cockpit view), I don't hear anything. But when I switch to 3rd person view, I can clearly hear the engine rumbling. I could swear to God that everything was working OK yesterday... Anyone else experienced this? Please help.

Mallard of Death
Finally some confirmation. I thought I was losing my mind! See, it's the throttle increase/decrease sound that's missing. APU is loud as hell, but engine is muffled. My prime suspect is this latest patch... Have you updated your DCS world?
Blaster79
Same problem for me. It happened after the last update.. any other confirmations?
Snoopy
You realize that hearing the engine as loud as it was in the past is unrealistic right? v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
Sabredog
The counter argument for that though is that you can't 'feel' the thrust so the sound is a substitute.
Blaster79
paulrkiii it's not a matter of volume.. the problem is that there is no pitch change in the engine sound when you're inside the cockpit. I didn't have this problem until last patch. I don't think this is working as intended, probably a bug?
Sabredog
The sound has totally gone. I think it's a bug...
Snoopy
Sounds more realistic to me. Exactly...but everyone has a right to their opinion. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
SkateZilla
1.2.10 Sounds more realistic, you can barely hear the higher pitch whine of the engines, but you can hear/feel the low pitch jet noise a lil bit more than the high pitch whine as the RPM goes up. it is more realistic this way. They they change the Fan blade animations some? I dont recall the Idle RPM being like it was. the sound is there, sit on the runway, open canopy and turn up the volume, it's just quieter period. I don't think so. Turn on the APU during the flight. See how loud it is when the cockpit is closed. Compare it with almost non-existent engine sound. They should have lowered the volume of APU too, if they wanted it to be more realistic.
Snoopy
Yes the APU is to loud still but the APY is actually louder then both engines running real world as well. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
PFunk1606688187
Is the APU louder than both engines simply because its contained within the fuselage of the aircraft which would therefore conduct the noise? jcbak
Question for Any RW Hog Drivers/Crew Chiefs How realistic is the new sound level? The video obviously doesn't take into account what the pilot can actually hear with his helmet on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wALuNQPO3s [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]WIN 10, i7 10700, 32GB DDR4, RTX 2080 Super, Crucial 1TB SSD, Samsung EVO 850 500GB SSD, TM Warthog with 10cm extension, TIR5, MFG Crosswind Pedals, Wheelstand Pro, LG 40" 4K TV, Razer Black Widow Ultimate KB[/size]
SkateZilla
Imagine putting on ear plugs, the kind you use for shooting, then put on headphones, then a helmet over that, and finally close the canopy, good luck trying to hear engine changes. Take what Paulrkiii is saying as being correct, he has more time inside the A-10 cockpit versus any of us. jimcarrel
How does inserting earplugs facilitate listening thru headphones? Just asking Win 10 64 bit Intel I-7 7700K 32GB Ram Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 6gig
Snoopy
How does inserting earplugs facilitate listening thru headphones? Just asking They turn the volume up, simply put they have to wear earplugs. Some pilots have earplugs that act as earplugs and speakers for the radios but not many use them. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
