Dr_Arrow Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 I am from 55-60 to 47-50 ... nothing dramatic, so far enjoying the beauty of the cockpit and the model. I am just disappointed by peoples' reaction so far - it's been only several hours since the release and nearly all topics address some minor problems. Sure there are some and always will be, however the aircraft is so fantastic and polished (nothing really major is missing) and setting a new bar for all. I say, great job LN - take a deep breath and a bit of rest, you guys deserve it and you've done fantastic job with Mig-21 !

akuzmenko Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Guys, try to turn off the force feedback in dcs control settings. After setting it to 0 framerate is 2-3 times better now.

I am so far extremely blown away by the detail of this module but I cannot enjoy or investigate it with the current frame rate issues which are not minor problems. It's like trying to fly a slideshow at the moment. It's not that we're not thankful for all the work LN have put in I think my appreciation shows by buying the module as support. I think most of us want to help report the issues to LN so that they can try and fix the issues ASAP and have a better experience for all future MIG-21 pilots. Edited September 17, 2014 by Rykane

Corrigan Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 (edited) One of my MA buddies reported that rebooting helped him in the fps department. Something worth trying, perhaps. Thank you very much Cobra! No apology needed. I agree emphatically with the bold part. Very impressed and happy with how LS has handled everything so far. Why try to make others feel bad? I payed money for it, let me complain as much as i want (if you could even count thats as a complaint...)
shagrat Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 I understand this is a bet release!? So why complain and point at "I paid money" ? Either try to help identify what is the cause and help in the beta evaluation or wait until official release version! Complaining that a beta (as in not finished and working as expected) is not perfect. I would agree we are used to a beta quality, that every major publisher would consider finished and even not care about patches (rather EA would just offer "Mig-21bis II : The next Encounter" and have you pay another $50 for that. Vespa Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Same issue here...unflyable due to low fps while in cockpit

leapingrodent Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 I think the Low FPS and the FFB Issues are linked. I don't have a FFB stick nor do I have FFB enabled and I still get the FPS drop unfortunately.
bumfire Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 (edited) Turn msaa down to two, your pc is slightly better than mine and I dont have low fps and I have clutter/bushes up at 9000 and resolution of 1920x1200. I would suggest to the OP to turn MSAA down to 2, you wont probably notice the difference graphical wise but hopefully will fps wise. Edited September 17, 2014 by bumfire

Simply put, some of these gorgeous new Models have such high texture resolutions, anything above 2x will likely push your GPU and it's VRAM over it's limits. Tesarus Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Strange, I have minimum of 32 (34 on screenshot) FPS, all settings ULTRA. In most situations I have 40+ FPS. And my computer is not the TOP: - Core i5 (3.4 gHz) - 8 GB RAM - 750 GB HDD (quite slow and old, not SSD) - Single GeForce GTX 770 (not overclocked)

This was supposed to be in today's announcement, but things went a bit quicker than we anticipated. I am not worried about that, your module seems to be nearly complete ( bugs in launch always gonna happen ) and is full of possibilities, I don't be upset if the beta state remains for some weeks if you are working on it. Can't wait to return home and try it ( If the g940 allow to play well with ffb disabled ) :joystick: :pilotfly:
tusler Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Just a quick note, we had( I had) the same low FPS problem when the MI-8 first came out, I discovered it was because of the DCS Update. I uninstalled the DCS World, rebooted and reinstalled the newest version with update already incorporated and the FPS problem went away. On a SIDE NOTE the original post with the 2600K CPU this is an open architecture cpu hence the (K) you can overclock that badboy to 4.0 ghz and above if you have the cooling system to handle it.... OP has his at 4x which i think is nuts in dcs. Another tip, disable antivirus, as some antivirus run background scans all the time when you open or write new files, that initself can cause major slowdowns. In my dcs I have all settings at high, clutter/bushes 9000 odd, preload 3/4 the way up, birds 100, 1920x1200 res, hdr normal, msaax2 In my video drivers I have AFx16, gamma aa enabled, override AA and set that for 2, also set msaa for 2, high quality, clamp and vsync enabled along with the one above it, cant recall what it is but its for opengl games only. Thats the major settings in my video drivers and the game is installed on one of my ssd's and its sweet as a nut, but i wouldnt set 4xmsaa or 4xssaa as that would probably kill it for me Edited September 17, 2014 by bumfire
