The Black Sea map looks fantastic in DCS 1.5.

I love the blue vibrant haze effect, in comparison the old map rendering looks lifeless, dry and unappealing.

Looking forward to September.

I wouldn't quite go that far... Just played some today and it is still beautiful.. Just 1.5 is a different/better level.

Maybe i've compared it to an older build on youtube, because in 2009 the graphics were not as good as they are now even in 1.2, they improved over time.

So....version 1.5. I recall that 2.0 will have multi-gpu support aka SLI. Matt mentioned that the only difference will be no maps in 1.5. The code will be the same in 1.5 and 2.0. Will the multi-gpu support be implemented in the early release of 1.5???? This was going to be one of the new features as mentioned in the previous descriptions of what 2.0 was to include.

I have two video cards that are begging to be used.

Will the multi-gpu support be implemented in the early release of 1.5???? This was going to be one of the new features as mentioned in the previous descriptions of what 2.0 was to include.

I have two video cards that are begging to be used.

 

WE are getting EDGE with 1.5 minus the ability to have new maps, that is all. The only performance benefits we will be missing in 1.5 is those we will get from the way new maps are built. All other performance benefits, including multiple GPU support should be in 1.5.

Anyone seen how the new "visibility icons" look like? Screenshots?

 

 

Not properly yet I don't think. But in one of Wags videos, there were some F-18's departing the base. Despite the poor resolution on twitch, they remained visible for quite some time... Bodes well for us.

Seeing things through rose colored glasses

 

The detailing in 2.0/NTTR is mind blowing. However, the first thing I thought (aside from "dang, I NEED that!) is the gray coloring of the landscape. I've seen many aerials of the region and would suggest a minor tweak. I offer, as support for my opinion, the following image: (There are others available via Google.) Note the pink hue.

The Hornet is best at killing things on the ground. Now, if we could just get a GAU-8 in the nose next to the AN/APG-65, a titanium tub around the pilot, and a couple of J-58 engines in the tail...

Its better to hold judgement on colour until you have the map on your machine, then we will see where they are at.

 

There are many factors when discussing colour, some are weather, time of day, air quality... their are more, but like I said, we should wait and see how it looks on our equipment.

So, are they going to work on the other maps first before releasing NTTR so that there's a bit of a set in stone schedule release or something for other maps? Or are they just going to work on one, release it, then proceed onto working on the next?

Integration and optimization are separate from building of the maps... SoH is still very much on going, building phase that is (ask for a rough idea of where that map is in the next Q&A, maybe he can give an update ;) ), I would assume that most of the bumps they have getting NTTR will be avoided for future maps.

Did I get it right that in 1.5 DCS in September that in Multiplay before you hit fly you can pick your skin like in IL2.

He mentioned in the most recent video stream that the new ATC system may not make it in to 1.5.
