F1y1ngNut Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 PFM/ASM? The background looks like a mountainous area of the Caucasus region. Yep it's a preview of the upcoming Leatherneck flying machine. :pilotfly:
Dahlbeck Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Partnering with Thrustmaster, making a truly unique and realistic propulsion experience, "TM Velo". :-P
didilman Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Hope to hear something this month the real announcement.

sim_guy Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 This is pure speculative at this stage, but I think the reason Leatherneck is holding off on announcements is because they want to give us 2 nice Xmas presents in December. I think that when they make the announcement(update), they will nearly be ready to put both of them up for pre-sell. Cobra, am I close on this? Thanks
Brisse Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 I think that when they make the announcement(update), they will nearly be ready to put both of them up for pre-sell. Cobra, am I close on this? Cobra said so himself on SimHQ forum as I mentioned a few weeks ago in this thread. The time from announcement to release will be short.
Plushanubka Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Cobra said so himself on SimHQ forum as I mentioned a few weeks ago in this thread. The time from announcement to release will be short. He also said announcements should be released in september and october, so what?
pered Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Ehem ehem, just my guess. 1 Gotta catch them all bandits! :joystick:

Dappman Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 because we need strike aircraft!. What can the Su24 do that the Su27 can't? AFAIK it doesn't even have a targeting pod/TV like the Su25. 1
Boss86005 Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Me too! Ugly and slow looking aircraft. King_Hrothgar Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 A Su-24M would make a very unique and fun addition. As for what it does that a Su-27 doesn't: 1) SEAD 2) Radar guided anti-ship missiles 3) TV guided missiles 4) TV guided bombs 5) Laser guided bombs 6) Laser guided missiles What it does compared to Su-25T: 1) Supersonic 2) Twice the payload 3) Radar guided anti-ship missiles We really don't have any flyable aircraft that are anything like it. It is a supersonic light bomber, similar to the F-111 in a lot of ways. I think both the Su-24 and F-111 would make excellent DCS additions. That said, I seriously doubt either are being seriously developed at this time. The Viggen and a WW2 thingy are all but certain at this point.

TJTAS Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Really I don't see the fascination with the viggen. Its not ugly or anything. But it is a very niche Swedish aircraft with no service record worth talking about. No one else in the world has ever used it and its never been outside of Sweden.

theOden Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 .. with no service record worth talking about.. It did manage to lock on to a SR-71, always something :pilotfly: (and sink a Su-15 by manouver) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Dudikoff Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 What can the Su24 do that the Su27 can't? AFAIK it doesn't even have a targeting pod/TV like the Su25. Is this a joke? What's stopping you from quickly checking its Wiki entry at least before posting such nonsense? i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg. Once the target sum is reached, I'll be off to somewhere nice I promise not to post from. I'd buy that for a dollar!
Dappman Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Is this a joke? If not, then you don't know much, comparing it with Su-27 and Su-25.. What's stopping you from quickly checking it's Wiki entry at least before posting such nonsense? Are you taking this personally or something? Because I didn't say I don't want an Su24. I did do a quick wiki search before I posted that. I don't have hours to get into the complete detail of every plane mention on a speculation thread.
QuiGon Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Really I don't see the fascination with the viggen. Its not ugly or anything. But it is a very niche Swedish aircraft with no service record worth talking about. No one else in the world has ever used it and its never been outside of Sweden. I think especially that makes it a very interesting aircraft. We all know popular aircrafts like the F-16, so I'm happy if we will get something new and unique. Besides that, In regard to DCS I'm more interested in the aircraft itself than it's service record. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
MBot Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 What can the Su24 do that the Su27 can't? AFAIK it doesn't even have a targeting pod/TV like the Su25. The Su-24 can operate at long range, penetrate defences at high speed and low lewel and strike targets with high accurancy, during night or adverse weather. It can go to places the Su-27 can't, strike targets the Su-27 cannot find, with an accurancy the Su-27 cannot match.
