piXel496 Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 (edited) Great initiative. Compliments for all who took the time to make this stream happen. The few random imperfections during the live presentation where perfect and made it better then edited. I like the professional desaturated graphic style ED uses and find it nice to see it still does. just one comment.. The feel of soft edges in the landscapes are they due to coarse structured tesselation or low contrast textures? Thanks and I hope you will stream again! . Edited June 22, 2015 by piXel496 btw.. you looked 10 years younger then I expected. :) old stuff I made
Etirion Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 It´s not about the stream having on youtube, but why not having the stream recorded and officially posted on youtube by ED. By reading through the Thread here I recognize that really every single person who complains about not having had the possibility to watch this stream due to Internetspeed limitations, has been ignored. Should´nt the WHOLE Community have the opportunity to see this content? Or is it just for those who deserve this because they got a highspeed Internet? Thats not my point, you are able to record and upload Videos to Youtube if you use Twitch, its actually very easy to do, it wasnt uploaded because ED only did this as a test and has been stated many times by them (different resoultions for the stream will be possible once they are partnered), all I'm saying is just that they should stick to twitch for streaming instead of going to youtube blocking out a part of the audience.
Cibit Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 (edited) Very enjoyable and am very excited by the new ME features, the nanosecond load times and the feature rich MP interface:thumbup: BTW I have a 2MB rural internet but still managed to stream, don't know if I was lucky but doubt very much there are many ppl with a worse internet connection Edited June 22, 2015 by Cibit i5 8600k@5.2Ghz, Asus Prime A Z370, 32Gb DDR4 3000, GTX1080 SC, Oculus Rift CV1, Modded TM Warthog Modded X52 Collective, Jetseat, W10 Pro 64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Adding JTAC Guide //My Vid's//229th AHB

Aginor Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 I hope Wags does not forget that the reaction of the majority here and even in that awful twitch chat (thanks to the moderators for trying to keep it clean btw.) was and is positive. This should encourage ED to keep up with the updates. Please don't let a few a******* ruin the communication of ED with the community again. :) DCSW weapons cheat sheet speed cheat sheet

Thats why I hope that the next stream will be available on youtube later on for those who dont have the opportunity to watch it life BlackSharkDen | BSD Discord | DCS Tutorial Collection

Snoopy Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Agreed, could not believe the chat last night like free weekend on counterstrike:P The twitch chat window had every troll possible trying to cause problems. I was impressed, missile smoke was great, when Wags popped flares the first time I about crapped myself they look so good. Different sounds for the various stages of AB on the 15. Sure some things need tweaking but overall very impressed. Now to get back to writing operating instructions for US airfield symbology:D. Looking forward to the next one, don't late the trolls impact future streams. If I had to guess out of the various people watching (over 1500 at one point) I'd say the negative people (or those that repeated over and over again about needing an F-16) was less than 2%. I eventually just stopped watching the chat window. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website

Scarecrow Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Good job ED. It seemed to go very positively, I wasn't paying much attention to chat but the response seemed good. The crashes were to be expected from an pre-Alpha build. It has to be this year though, please :)
xoxen Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 (edited) I believe the crashes have not been DCSW 2.0 related. Everytime when the stream continued he did not start from the beginning. It seems that the stream itself caused the issues, respectively TwitchTV. Just my 2 Cents. By the way, in my opinion the Live Stream was amazing and I hope this will be continued the same way soon and frequently. Good job Wags and ED. Mainstay Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Hi Matt thank you and ED for the stream. Besides the new graphics engine is ED also working on a new sound engine? I ask this question because alot of the sounds during the stream are the same as the current ones. Are they just placeholders or will they be carried over. To be honest i think alot of current sounds are much better by using mods that replace them. Sounds are a big part of the immersion and it would be so nice to get better sounds aswell. The new graphics looks absolute stunning and i like the fact ED has made options for model visibilty. Satellite view in the editor is really great ! Is 3d editing an option for the future with this engine? Shaping up greatly:thumbup:The future of my beloved flightsim looks great:pilotfly:
Pikey Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Hi ED, The stream was world class, i'm grateful you invited me, thanks! Long time customer and remain a very active user. Matt did ask for feedback generally on DCS World 2.0. I'd like to see; How the A-10C tgp camera handles the magnification effect when searching on the new terrain Night time lighting CA units, down low, making use of the improved terrain resolution including some of those delicious gulleys and infantry if it is ready. AI and line of sight Cloud penetration and thick cloud with perhaps weather effects (and if these can be changed) Any changes to the ME? Specifically, any more resource management for campaign builders. warehouses were a step in the right direction but incomplete we need to measure resources at mission end correctly. Much of the feature set has developed whilst we all waited, really all I would like to know on a development level is how scalable is the new design, is it extensible generally speaking, how can we consider the evolution of graphics and hardware to keep pace without a long update wait - and that sort of consideration. I'd be happy to provide in depth feedback, I can put aside time for that. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *

Pepec9124 Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Wags did a great job yesterday. Things to improve: 1. More bitrate options, it was lagging on ~8Mbps connection Overall it was pleasing to watch, commentary was top notch, DCS 2 looks promising to say the least.

ED Team Wags Posted June 22, 2015 ED Team Posted June 22, 2015 After the success of the Twitch Stream yesterday, we are going to attempt to do a weekly Twitch stream (when the software is cooperating and I am not traveling). Currently, I am thinking that it will be on Sundays at 1800 UTC time. With the kinks worked out, the streams will be archived for later viewing and users are free to re-broadcast. It’s my hope that the first weekly stream will be this Sunday, 28 June. I will also be doing an open Q&A on the channel chat the half hour prior to the stream starting.
