MegOhm_SD
"The NTTR map for DCS World 2 includes Nellis AFB, Creech AFB and the infamous Groom Lake AFB (aka Area 51)." aaron886
The agreement back then didnt say anything about Red Flag Campaigns for the A-10C and F-15 that I remember (but I am asking for clarification), as well, you did get the most advanced modern combat simulation of the A-10C for your purchase... lets not forget that. Quite true. Just unusual to not be delivered something I paid for until 5 years later. Essentially, ED has taken my loan and extended it for 5 years with no interest paid. (And I hope all software developers who utilize a pre-purchase scheme realize they really are getting a loan.) Those who pre-purchase now will be rewarded with campaigns and a 20% discount, and those who have been ED's longer-standing faithful customers will not be. Just another small disappointment in the handling of this (now tired) misadventure. Oh well, at least the map is looking good.

The NTTR map was an extra bonus, offered for people willing to early adopt the A-10C beta. There is no loan or interest. You received what you paid for. The bonus item took longer than originally estimated to deliver. 20% off a full-price map is still paying more than 100% off as a pre-order bonus. 2 Robert Sogomonian | Psyrixx website| e-mail | blog | youtube | twitter
Realizm
Just purchased the NTTR. Flying the F-14A/B in the Nevada range is going to be something I've wanted to do since I was a kid flying Falcon 3 (with Mig-29 addon, woohoo!) in the Red Flag Nevada stuff. Is the Grand Canyon also in the NTTR? Thanks DCS! Keep up the good work! As another person said, couldn't imagine sim life without DCS. When the F-14 is finally done, my life will be complete. :) Though, a full realism Mig-29 couldn't hurt...

It was not a loan, you paid for the A-10C (have had it for 5 years, including improvements, fixes and upgrades), everything else was extra. You need to do the math, you get a free map, and have to pay for 2 campaigns (based on Su-27, they should be 9.99) so your cost, 20 bucks. Preorder (before Oct1), they pay 40 bucks for map, get the campaigns... you still come out ahead by my calculations... of course my math skills are weak please correct me if I am wrong. aaron886
I doubt I'll find any support in this, and I'm sure the next replies will come back even more vitriolic, but this will close my opinion on the matter: You paid for the A-10C. That's what you got. The NTTR map was an extra bonus, offered for people willing to early adopt the A-10C beta. When I pressed the "purchase" button, I was putting up $60 for the listed aircraft and the Nevada map. Both were right there on the list of features. As far as I'm concerned, I paid for that map. If I received the Nevada map only by pre-purchasing the original A-10C beta, and not pre-purchasing meant I would not get the map, and the map was on the list of features for DCS: A-10C, then I paid for the map. Maybe it was somewhere explicitly stated that it was a bonus "gift" and I didn't see it. https://web.archive.org/web/20100927040622/http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?lang=en&end_pos=2452&scr=default It was not a loan, you paid for the A-10C (have had it for 5 years, including improvements, fixes and upgrades), everything else was extra. You need to do the math Not to get personal, but the "you need to do the math" line comes across as condescending and rude, especially from a moderator. It's fine of course to disagree, but I think it can be done more respectfully. Compare that map to what we are getting now and accept that it is easily worth paying for:thumbup Concur, that's really the only thing making this acceptable to me. As I said before, it does look great and I'm definitely excited, just can't help being slightly bothered. I thought it would be super cool to fly around Vegas in my Ka-50, but at the time I wasn't very interested in the A-10C. (That plane was definitely worth $60 though.) I also don't care about not getting the campaigns though, as I mainly use DCS for free flight. I am happy to finally get the map, and in honor of the Ka-50, I will use it for my very first flight around Vegas, as I originally intended. I know but my point was as a purchaser of A-10C beta we had access to this version and continue to have it if you still have the beta, it was working well in DCSW for quite a while before a new patch borked it and I for one enjoyed it for hours in SP:)I actually prepurchased and downloaded right after they removed that version of the map from DCS, so I have not been able to play on any version of the NTTR yet. Not even a (comparatively) bad version. Edited September 11, 2015 by VincentLaw [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

That is a two way street my friend... stating you got nothing for your "loan" for the last 5 years, could be considered as equally condescending and rude (especially after all we get for free with DCS World). Either way, its a dead issue now, so time to drop it. The Campaigns are not free to A-10C Beta users, the end. Do I understand it correctly that the Nevada on it's own will take 30GB of disk space? When I compare it to the Albatros specs below it's kinda different universe of specs. :D Minimum system requirements: OS 64-bit Windows Vista, 7/8/10; CPU: Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz; RAM: 6 GB; Free hard disk space: 10 GB; Video: 512 MB RAM card, DirectX 9.0c - compatible; Sound: DirectX 9.0c - compatible; requires internet activation. Metal Hawk
I think the most important information in the announcement of NEVADA Test and Training Range Map is that, now, we have official requirements for the hardware. Now we know what to expect from future maps and make better choices in our system upgrades.
