New RAZBAM Mirage 2000C Video!

Yes. Looks very good for pre-alpha level. I would actually say it is in Beta level already and waiting just a RC (Release Candidate) version to be published for pre-orderers to get it for testing.

(Just a side note, way too often today people use word "Beta" as a stamp for "Work in Progress" or "Unfinished" when it really means a very rough prototype that has main features in but far from final looking product. Alpha is that product is just barely working for its purpose, like couple hours work just to illustrate the idea of something. RC is about what the name says, ready to be pushed for public for testing and polishing to find the last bugs that is stopping the release).

I had no idea how french aircrafts will operate but saw that it was very logical and easy. So far the russian aircrafts has been easy by logic but the operation is somewhere between american and french design ;)

That video was just a eye candy for the Mirage and definitely it lands to my hangar.

Without the EFM, I'd suggest you may be jumping the gun as far as release candidate status is concerned. I suspect there is a lot more to be done before it is handed over to ED for final approval!

It is however, already looking a superb module. Looking forward to December, happy Christmas to me!!!

A lot of misconceptions on the different terms used to describe the progress of a project in the IT business:

Alpha - features not locked in, incomplete or missing: this can be pretty much anything, from missing textures, animations, to specific subsets of the program in question, incomplete ASM etc. in this case features are still not locked in place and can be changed, removed or completely reworked and added in.

Beta - all features locked in, but not complete: this means that all the major parts of the program are in place and feature locked, however they may be incomplete or riddled with bugs which would require beta testing to iron out.

RC - release candidate: Most of the bugs are ironed out, program is judged good enough for release although there may still be significant bugs to iron out, none of them are 'blocking' which means the program should be able to function on its release platform(s).

Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.

Nice vid. Thanks.

Plane and map both looking good. ... probably enough to get me off the fence about the plane, even with a SFM (at this stage).

Never buy a used car from Matt Wagner!! :smilewink:

I find it funny how - on the other side with FSX/P3D, these SFMs are pretty much all you ever get, while here, with DCS, 3rd party developers will have to add that extra level of fidelity to make us DCSers happy.

Wicked!!!! Man thats an easy startup. I love the A10 but that startup gets really long after a while.

That's also the most impressive I've seen the NTTR map looking. The low level flight over the suburbs followed by the high-speed blast up the tree-lined river ending with the vista on the climb out was really, really impressive.

My understanding is that it is not yet at DCS level and also wondering about the simplicity of the startup. Will this procedure and others be moving more towards the A-10C model when receiving the DCS moniker?

+1

NTTR looks really amazing in that video, especially the tree-lined river that you mentioned - incredibly realistic looking.

I am really impressed with the Mirage 2000 thus far, definitely grabbing this one as a pre-purchase. Aircraft of this era are a great balance of some pilot aids, but the avionics are not as complicated as, say the A-10C. Should be really fun to fly. Also, the cockpit, even though it's French, feels very familiar in terms of instrument layout, etc. Should be an easy transition for those of us used to looking at a Western cockpit.

Wags, thank you taking the time to make these videos! Really adds to the excitement.

Let's be fair: Even IT has trouble with those terms in this day and age. The rabid desire for software and hardware from consumers trumps QA.

Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!

I don't have access to the tech data but I can't imagine the INS aligns that quickly in the real mirage.

FYI...

Folks,

1. Matt followed the start sequence that we gave him based on the French manual.

2. No INS alignment proc yet, because the INS is not ready.

...

We followed all the written procedures at our disposal.

That probably explains it.

Well it is the best footage I have seen of NTTR so far so I'm almost doing the same.

I shelled for M2k from day 1 announced, taking advantage of discount. I think it will be a great module, but I wish Razbam to give us PFM not AFM. Perhaps ED could mediate talks with Dassault on this.

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

What difference would you expect between the two?

Might as well call it EFM, because the EFM is the subset to ED's PFM for 3rd party devs.
