Panda86 Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 I would love to see built in MP communications using the aircraft radios. Other than that I am loving this update!! Kurt

Lennoxonnell Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Totally agree! Made a post about this a while ago (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=138540) and think it is DEFINITELY doable and should be a top priority after the DCS 2.0 update drops Ryzen 1700 @ 3.7ghz | GTX 960 | 16gb Crucial Ballistix F/A-18C | Ka-50 | FC3 | A-10C | P-51D | UH-1H Youtube Channel [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
shagrat Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Would be a great addition! Aries Radio is nice, but difficult to handle. I would even pay for such a feature, say "Mil RadioComms Add-On" $30 or whatever, as I know you would need to license something like TS3 or whatever, but it would be fantastic to have really integrated comms! Rogue Trooper Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 integrated comms would be superb and I would also pay for it! HP G2 Reverb (Needs upgrading), Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate. set to OpenXR, but Open XR tool kit disabled. DCS: Pixel Density 1.0, Forced IPD at 55 (perceived world size), DLSS setting is quality at 1.0. VR Driver system: I9-9900KS 5Ghz CPU. XI Hero motherboard and RTX 3090 graphics card, 64 gigs Ram, No OC... Everything needs upgrading in this system!. Vaicom user and what a superb freebie it is! Virpil Mongoose T50M3 base & Mongoose CM2 Grip (not set for dead stick), Virpil TCS collective with counterbalance kit (woof woof). Virpil Apache Grip (OMG). MFG pedals with damper upgrade. Total controls Apache MPDs set to virtual Reality height. Simshaker Jet Pro vibration seat.. Uses data from DCS not sound... goodbye VRS.
McBlemmen Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 I would even pay for such a feature, say "Mil RadioComms Add-On" $30 or whatever I don't know about that.. i would hate to see dcs turn into fsx where you need to buy every feature.. that's gonna escalate fast. But yes this would be a nice addition. How would it work with the FC3 planes though?

But yes this would be a nice addition. How would it work with the FC3 planes though? Like Aries Radio for example, works already. http://ariescon.com/index1.html I was refering to the fact, that ED would need to pay horrible license fees for a voice communication server component and codecs... other than licensing and integratiing an existing component like TeamSpeak or Ventrillo, would require the development of a complete voice comms from scratch! So if we think of priorities here, I'd rather pay for the license and effort than wait a couple of years, until it is developed in parallel.:D Shagrat - Flying Sims since 1984 - Win 10 | i5 10600K@4.1GHz | 64GB | GeForce RTX 3090 - Asus VG34VQL1B | TrackIR5 | Simshaker & Jetseat | VPForce Rhino Base & VIRPIL T50 CM2 Stick on 200mm curved extension | VIRPIL T50 CM2 Throttle | VPC Rotor TCS Plus/Apache64 Grip | MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals | WW Top Gun MIP | a hand made AHCP | 2x Elgato StreamDeck (Buttons galore)
audax Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Mumble is a very good voice comm system. It is open source and available for commercial use under the very friendly BSD license. No license fees there :)

Zomba Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 This would have a huge impact on online missions. Would make life so much easier than dealing with external comms. I don't test for bugs, but when I do I do it in production.
Bimbac Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Our school is using this software: UniversRadio by TacnoWorld It's still in beta stage, but very robust and reliable. There are few bugs here and there, but so far the best software of the kind available. Try it and see for yourselves.

There are few bugs here and there, but so far the best software of the kind available. Try it and see for yourselves. Similar to Aries Radio, but that wasn't the point. The idea is to have "integrated"(!) comms, without the need to install an external solution like Teamspeak, to install a plugin, to configure an interface that runs on top of DCS, doesn't work with full screen mode, etc. The constant fear that a Teamspeak update may break something, again. The configuration needs readjustment, or the simple " I can't hear anybody seems it crashed again"/that comes with external solutions is what people want to omit... Don't get me wrong, all current solutions like Aries, TARS or UniversRadio are great and enhance the DCS experience, but an integrated voice comms system that utilizes the in game radio mechanics without a separate solution and plugins would be much easier to handle. Tumbleweed Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 I for one would welcome this idea. I personally feel this might encourage more people to use comms and would make for better SA and co-op all round. I'm sure people that wouldn't ordinarily use voice comms would be more tempted knowing they needn't download or set up anything extra and hearing all the comm chatter in flight might also make people want to join in more. I'm not a big comms user. I tend to feel like I'm intruding busting right into teamspeak. That and I'm not really a social chatty person in that respect. I do tend to miss out a lot because of that and I miss out on crucial info and cooperation. I'd certainly feel more like joining in with a full in game comms system BUT it would need to be protected from abuse in some way or you'll get people piping music through it just to be f00ls or people ranting abuse. Given that the base game is free you'll soon find youtube clowns joining in public games just to make troll videos so they get more ad money. Just my 2 cents. Vectury Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 The idea is great! I just hope the integration of such comms will go smoothly if someone eventually develops it.
