Maybe for a change, this addon will be sold as a complete product from day 1, without the beta/preorder tags. You never know.

But if you really want to part with your money right now, you can send 50$ to me. I'll order the Gazelle for you when it becomes available.

Why? Because it slows down the release of modules / games

mi 8 is not completed, it would be the case without beta, because faster is better for $

There is a lot of truth to that, it has become fairly common to release a "beta" product and then never actually finish it. You aren't the only one who's tired of that kind of thing, but I don't consider the Mi-8 to be an offender in that regard. The stuff they left out (other than the bomb sight) was largely unimportant in the context of a home flight sim and most of it has now been added. The C-101 is a far better example of an abandoned beta product. Regardless, I too am eager for some news on the Gazelle. Seems all the recent updates have been on projects not expected to be released for a year or more.

The team have been giving info up to as recently as 9 days ago, in the project thread.

There was also a detailed update around the turn of the year, explaining what was happening and what was planned - don't see what the issue is with wanting updates.

Sure. Yes please! Give me a module that's not in beta because they rushed the full release. And thanks to the rush and lack of testing it's riddled with bugs and not really fly able.

I see nothing wrong with releasing aircraft in a beta state. They state that it's beta and people can make their choice. Releasing a beta can actually speed up the process to a full release because they actually have a ton of people testing it, instead of the company's internal testing team trying to find each and every bug.

If you buy a beta product and are not happy with it, then wait for the full release before you buy beta products. After all, you would still be waiting for the full release anyway if they didn't do an open beta.

If not for buying A10c beta,I would not be enjoying Nevada (as an alpha) and free at that. F86 was in beta quite a while and can't overstate the enjoyment of this bird even while in beta.

It would also seem beta gives developers some early funds to help sustain their cost before full retail release.

Here we go yet again - another totally appropriate and necessary debate on whether Beta releases are good or bad! After all, it is entirely up to us how developers go about their business isn't it!

Posted

It seems to me that Beta is somewhat subjective. Some releases were/are in beta and the aircraft is very flyable and then there are others that are not. I'm guessing that some developers may call it a beta because there are bound to be some issues no matter how much careful testing is done. I've regretted beta purchases in the past, but the Gazelle will be a day one buy for me.
