Paradox Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Figuring out how to solve problems is at the root of all programming. Sometimes you figure things out in a minute, sometimes it takes a week, or a year. :) Yeah and they've sort of done some of this before in the Mirage so the process tends to get more efficient. Progress seems excellent and it's a day1 buy for me
comie1 Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 You can do it! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] https://www.twitch.tv/comie1
Zeus67 Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Great Work. But to implement the TGP picture in only one week, isn't much at all, or? The problem was not in getting video, that was easy- The problem was in making the camera behave as it should. 3 "Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning." "The three most dangerous things in the world are a programmer with a soldering iron, a hardware type with a program patch and a user with an idea."
609_Relentov Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Thanks for the update Zeus, its like we're watching it grow into an adult with these incremental enabled features :).
dhevans79 Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Thanks for the updates Zeus. It's really interesting to get an inside view on the development of a module, and your openness is being much appreciated by the crowd watching. I would also like to recommend you for how well your handling some of the more blunt questions asked of you. Your really doing a great service to the fans by keeping up with the comments and reacting professionally and openly with answers. rjetster1 Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Really amazing watching the AV-8B Harrier being developed for DCS... great job thus far!! I never thought I would see the day when this aircraft was operational in DCS.
VTJS17_Fire Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 The problem was not in getting video, that was easy- The problem was in making the camera behave as it should. Rogue Trooper Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 (edited) It took me a week but at last I managed to make these work: FLIR White Hot and Black Hot modes. A usual with these problems it was just one tiny number the root of all my problems. Looks pig damn good, a weeks work for years of enjoyment! Harrier, Tornado, Hawk and now the Viggen, all will pull me away from choppers! Who woulda thunk we got such Love. Edited March 24, 2017 by Rogue Trooper HP G2 Reverb (Needs upgrading), Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate. set to OpenXR, but Open XR tool kit disabled. sirscorpion Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 (edited) Still think there something "off" with the HUD glass, compared to the link the one we have feels "smaller" and narrower" and more in an upright position. Still though hard to call final verdict till you can 6DOF around the pit in game. Edited March 25, 2017 by sirscorpion
phant Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 @sirscorpion: beautiful video! @Zeus67: we want that properly implemented! :) Bye Phant
Gunny Highway Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 It looks good to me, I just think in Zeus images, the field of view is out a little more. If you compare the video of the Spanish Harrier, the hud is in view without the mfcd. If you adjust the FOV in the sim to reflect that, I bet it looks larger. Either way this is day one buy for me. Love the Harrier. YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0vsd0o5MT4FGzkWjaEucVg Combat Vet, Couch Pilot
some1 Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 Staying on the Harrier topic, here's an interesting description of a simulated dogfight between F-4 and AV-8A from VX-4 evaluation tests in the '70s: https://books.google.pl/books?id=knvVwLX6mFMC&lpg=PA230&ots=RhkiiBKPnf&dq=phantom%20rudder%20reversal&pg=PA230#v=onepage&q&f=false Hardware: VPForce Rhino, FSSB R3 Ultra, Virpil WarBRD, Hotas Warthog, Winwing F15EX, Slaw Rudder, GVL224 Trio Throttle, Thrustmaster MFDs, Saitek Trim wheel, Trackir 5, Quest Pro
Backy 51 Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 Can't wait for the Harrier! Thanks for the updates ... I don't need no stinkin' GPS! (except for PGMs :D) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ESAc_matador Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 (edited) I dont know if this was posted already... but it is a great video from the Spanish Harrier. Edited March 25, 2017 by ESAc_matador
frixon28 Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 I dont know if this was posted already... but it is a great video from the Spanish Harrier. Wow what an awesome video. Interesting to see such clear footage of the cockpit of 4th gen aircraft. I never can find videos of US aircraft cockpits of any kind. I guess thats a problem you have to deal with when you have the best pilots and equipment around...:music_whistling: All playing aside thats an epic video!
frixon28 Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 In our Harrier, we wont be getting a full colour moving mini map (like on the A-10C TAD) right?
Vitormouraa Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 Actually we will SplashOneGaming Discord https://splashonegaming.com

Zeus67 Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 In our Harrier, we wont be getting a full colour moving mini map (like on the A-10C TAD) right? Of course you will get the TAD. Raven68 Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Hey Zeus are you guys interested in doing a live stream on the Normandy map with Harrier? It sounds like it's up entirely to you guys per a Q&A question on Saturday evening. I would love to see you guys demo a fly-around and land in a open area surrounded by a bunch of trees.
