mikewmac Posted February 17, 2016 Share Posted February 17, 2016 I just upgraded my DCS World Open Beta to version 1.5.3.50355 and now the opening UI screen is always locked up and I can't even exit. I did however had to use my Install .bats for my Modules, and that helped me have a perfect Install. Thanks ED!!! I honestly thought that open beta had ended when the stable 1.5.2 released was announced and I thought ED said they would not be updating OB anymore. There is absolutely no need to have 3 different versions. You can safely ditch the stable release branch. You only need the Open Beta branch and if you want to play Nevada the Open Alpha branch. If there is an update beeing released to the open beta that you don't want (e.g. it's buggy or you want to keep MP combatibility) then you just reject it until the stable version gets updated. No problem. I only use the Open Beta for more than 2 years now and get all the updates I want (except nevada of course). But if you have the stable branch and want to switch to the beta branch then you don't have to reinstall the entire game. You can just convert your stable branch to the beta branch using the DCS updater. Also in other settings ULTRA the visibility is increased, i noticed significant performance penalti specially on coast (due water are reflecting all objects), from stable 60 fps to 35-40 in some situations.
