Mirage 2000 do Brasil !!!

Not top notch quality, but Magic 2 firing and air refuelling on KC-130H.

 

 

Now withdrawn from service, it was called F-2000 over there.

These were kind of Frankenstein Mirage 2000.

The airframes were former Mirage 2000C with RDM radar and M53-5 engine (tail number 1 to 37 in FAF).

But the fighters were upgraded with RDI weapon systems freed by Mirage 2000-5F upgrade.

We can see some Super 530D in the video.

 

Still an upgrade from Mirage III :smilewink:

 

Now Brazil rely on F-5EM with Israeli Derby Fox 3 missile for air defense, waiting for Gripen E.

Photos of Mirage 2000-5 Mk2 #548 and #552 of Greek Aur Force over Georgia during multirole mission training at night as a part of Greek-Georgian Military Exercises.

 

Greek Air Force sent 4 Mirage 2000-5 Mk2 #548, #549, #550 and #552 to military base near Batumi in Georgia.

 

Multirole training mission was a reminder for Greek pilots who have practised take-offs. flights and landings during night, what's more they have practised interception of Boeing 757-300 of ThomsonFly, destroying air targets by using Magic 2 and MICA IR and EM missiles, air-refueling, CAS with JTAC by using Damocles pod and GBU-12 and pinpoint strike by using SCALP during one mission.

Magic lock during Master arm off

Not exactly a Magic Lock, it is the MAV feature, than allows you to use the Magic II seeker as an IRST. In this mode you cannot fire the Magic and this mode is obviously only available if you have a Magic under your wing.

 

 

You can tell this is MAV mod because you have the scan mode on the left of the VTH.

 

<-> stands for horizontal scan.

 

 

This will come with the revamp of the PCA/VTH/HOTAS logics. Finger crossed

The MAG PCA button will change to MAV when you press it. Press it again and it will restore the MAG mode. This button allows you to select the mode of your Magic, it does not select it as a weapon to fire.

If you want to select the Magic Missile (in order to do some killing) you will have only one option, use the three position switch of your HOTAS.

- Forward position: MAGIC II

- Center position: PCA Weapon (S530D or Ground ammunition)

- Backward position: Guns
