=DECOY= Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 I think I mentioned this a while back but... Outside of the Oculus changes it still feels like ED has been doing stuff in the background. I swear I had not changed any of my settings a while back and I got on after a couple of ED updates and it just looked.... better. So whether it's all in my head or something was really done, who cares I guess. :) Keep it up ED. :) Granted I bumped up to a 1080 but I'm running 1.5 at pd 2.0 and almost everything on high and it's smooth as silk. Also, did they make the sprites smaller on model enlargement large? I feel like they are now, but with the current state of the game I pretty much don't even need labels at all anymore. Just a quick zoom and I can spot almost everything on the ground and in the air. Can you print screen your settings buddy, i would love to see what settings your using ;) Water cooled i9-9900K | Maximus Code XI MB | RTX3090 | 64GB | HP Reverb G2

The memory if fine The GPU will run the Rift on low settings. My only question is the CPU. the min recommendation is a Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater i dont know your card all that well, so i would recommend running the test below. here is the link https://support.oculus.com/1633938460220125/ 1 Water cooled i9-9900K | Maximus Code XI MB | RTX3090 | 64GB | HP Reverb G2

Once you don't get greedy with your settings afterwards and ensure you stay over the 45fps threshold (use RCtrl Pause to check) it really looks just as good as full 90fps to me. Drop below 45fps and things get very ugly and sickening very quickly. I'm now running shadows which I could never do before. __________________________________________________Win 10 64bit | i7 7700k delid @ 5.1gHz | 32Gb 3466mhz TridentZ memory | Asus ROG Apex motherboard | Asus ROG Strix 1080Ti overclocked Komodosim Cyclic | C-tek anti torque pedals and collective | Warthog stick and throttle | Oculus Rift CV1 | KW-908 Jetseat | Buttkicker with Simshaker for Aviators RiftFlyer VR G-Seat project: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2733051#post2733051
joebloggs Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 @Frusheen - I'll try it out but is this something I will need if I'm using a Geforce 1080? Will I see a difference even using this card? Thanks!

joebloggs Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 (edited) @hansangb - I'm still not sure how to use this after reading frusheen instructions? I have made two reg files one for On and another for off, because I'm not sure what it means when it says: "To turn ASW off use the same .reg file and repeat the steps 3-5?" How do I use the same file to turn it on then off without first editing it in note pad and creating the file again? That's why I made two files so that I don't have to do this? Am I missing something here? When I press the ctrl and num keys they don't seem to do anything is this because I have made two reg files one for off and another for on? Did you add (merge) the lines to your registry? Take your time and re read the instructions. Editing your registry wrong can cause serious issues with your PC. You can see if it's enabled in the oculus log files. You will also know by using the ctrl numpad shortcuts in game and turning on the frame rate monitor. With it on you should be locked at 45fps and off you should be st 90fps. I can make a 1 min video on how to do this. Most people have problems with the reg file method because they have "hide known extension" turned on. So instead of saving the file as fubar.reg they are really saving it as fubar.reg.txt LMK if it's not working for you, and I'll record a quick video tomorrow evening. hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1

Eddie Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Anyone finding they can't un map the numpad 5 key from centre view? For me even though it's removed from the binding in the options DCS still takes any key presses and centres the VR viewpoint.

minimi66 Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Noticed something interesting with Mav's in VR!! Hi, Has anyone else noticed that in VR (Occulus in my case) there seems to no longer be a need on most occasions to slew the Mav seeker off the target in order to get it to lock onto the target and be able to get a launch cue? This has happened to me numerous times in VR over the first month of having VR. On one occasion i was able to get 3 successive missiles off at a convoy of 4 vehicles without having to slew the reticle at all. When i go back to flying on my monitor i have to slew the reticle off the target to get it to lock again? Just wondered if anyone else had noticed this or anything similar? Or maybe i've been missing something in my previous use of Mav's? Be interested to know?
