Starway Posted July 26, 2016 Author Posted July 26, 2016 I'm so confused.. So, I just clicked on the last link. I believe it said it was Update 2.4? I hope that is for DCS v1.5? The descritption just said it was mainly to fix distant textures. (for the Caucaus map I assume?) But the Torrent says it is 'Starways Black Sea map 2.5.rar'. So.... Guess I'll just see what I get when the 2.06 gig finishes.. (That first post should be more clear I think. Or maybe it just me..?) EDIT: It looks like it worked. So this is still the DLC terrain for the Caucaus map? But it doesn't pass the online Integrity check? Please don't care about the numbering. I changed the naming afterwards to 2.4 on the server to avoid any confusion with the official upcoming 2.5 version. But I forgot that the folder in the zip file still has the old name. Considering the integrity check: The only file which somehow is causing the error is the "shadows.lua". You have to delete this file from the mod before activating it via JGSME. Oscar Juliet Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 I've scrolled back pages and pages. Do we only need to download the last link that is listed for 2.4 or do we have to grab all the links starting with the first release? Perhaps some editing of the original post can help clear some up. Thank you The Files you wish to keep are placed in DCS World\Mods\terrains\CaucasusBase\vfstextures\ LandTexturesAutumnOther.zip LandTexturesSpringOther.zip LandTexturesSummerOther.zip LandTexturesWinterOther.zip You have to unpack the originals of these archives and copy over the files named field_p_1.bmp.dds field_p_2.bmp.dds ... field_p_6.bmp.dds and some of the files named grass_n_1.bmp.dds grass_n_2.bmp.dds ... grass_n_8.bmp.dds into the archives from starway. That way you will have the original field textures together with the rest of starways DLC. But I bet these files will not fit together. The fields might be way to bright. Skulleader Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Hi, I would like to know if this Mod is perfect for the helicopters ? I've tested many textures but I think that these Mods are better for the jets that helicopters, with a Huey, Mi-8 or other chopers we fly very close to the ground, your Mod Starway is good for this kind of machines ? In advance a great thanks, Skull. USSInchon Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 I find it very acceptable for helicopter flying. In general the Caucasus' suck (*technical term) for low level, but his textures do make a lot better.

Thanks for your help You need to go into the SF2 folder and rename Reshade64.dll to dxgi, this tells the game to render using DX11. After you do this try starting up, if it doesn't work then you can go back and remove the Reshade32.dll from the bin folder. I forget if you have to remove it so just be sure to keep it on your desktop in case you need to drag it back in. To actually use SF2 you have to find a setting, Google "DCS Sweetfx settings", click an ED forum link and there will be several posts with "SweetFX_settings.txt" files linked. When you find one you like, download it, go to your SF2 folder and clock around in the directories until you find SweetFX_settings.txt, drag the one you download in, let windows overwrite and replace it. This will give you your desired FX. Is there anyway I can improve the FPS? Hi, performance issues can have many reasons, so it is a bit difficult to say what causes the problem in your case. The DLC is a bit more hardware hungry than the vanilla version due to its high res textures. Your graphic card and the lack of video memory could be the reason but that is just guessing. In general disabeling the mirrors, civ traffic and reduce the trees vis have huge impact on performance. Best, SW System: Intel Core i5 3570K | GTX 980 OC | 16 GB DDR3 1600 | 500 GB SSD
