Only doing the instant action but I couldn't recreate the drop in the Mirage when I turned radar on. Running i7 Intel and a GTX1080.

I´ve the same problem with the Mirage 2000 Radar.

 

When i turn it on my FPS drops from 60 FPS to 20 every 4-5 seconds.

when this happens, could someone try the f-15c and lock up a target in tws mode and see if your FPS drops also?

No FPS drop for me in the F15C when in TWS lock. However, have you noticed a drop in FPS in general when in the F15, especially when looking down into the cockpit with the new update?

I have FPS drop with M2000 radar when I use the instant action "take off" but then I create a new mission and no FPS drop. So maybe an old mission issue, but a friend told me even with new mission he has the fps drop.... strange.

And for the F-5 in a new mission I have a constant oscillation of about 10fps (between 50 and 37).

After some tests i have noticed that problem is present only when radar is in search mode (Mirage and F-5). When target is locked, game runs smooth again. When flying FC3 planes like Su-27 and F-15 i have constant high FPS even when radar is turned on and searching.

I feel the same. I think the fps drop is in search mode. In STT mode no fps drop for me.

Even with a new mission edited I have some fps drop with mirage radar on, but less dramatic than instant action....

I have had low fps since update to, on Blueflag in the huey was getting 5fps peaking at 6, and on free flight mission get 20.

Before the updates i had my settings from the high tab and that was all, use to get 50 around airfields and built up areas, upto 90 in flight above 1000ft, now using low tab i can barely get 30 yo yoing from 15 to 30.

Turned every background service off even stopped tir and still no gains just drops.

Last night right after the patch i had no Problems. But today with the same Mission i get Frame Drops and my hdd runs at a 100% constantley as soon as i turn on the Radar.

I have seen this dip when using radar now, and the devs are aware.

Hope you guys figure this one out. Although I have to say, at least with the F-5E-3, I am not experiencing this in my custom sandbox mission I've made and just updated to add in my F-5 that has lots of activity on the airfields and in the air. Take off from Nellis with with the radar finishing warming up and active having 60fps (vsync enabled) and then I activate some ground vehicles to go toward Hoover Dam, ingress toward targets, drop bombs all keeping it at 55-60fps. Radar was fully active before getting there and is searching with no drops in fps. Turn toward Vegas and get down low. Frames drop, depending on where I look, to 45-55fps. Activate an air target far north and climb above cloud cover. Stays pegged at 60fps the whole time until I land with the radar on. I tried turning it off and on again and it stays the same. I haven't tried the Mirage yet but will later today after getting some yard work done.

I'm finding just a general drop in performance since the update as well. I've notice that, in F-15C cockpit (mirrors off), when I look down at the instruments, my FPS will drop as much as 15-18 FPS. Before the update, looking down into the pit caused zero drop in performance. This behavior is nearly identical to what I experienced after the first 1.5.4 Stable patch as well. (though the average peak of performance in 2.0+ is still way higher...I'm probably averaging 48 FPS since the 2.0.3 update whereas, in 1.5.4, I'm only averaging about 33 FPS) I'm just wondering what is changing in these latest updates to tax performance? I'm flying, almost exclusively, the F-15.

If devs find a way to fix this issue soon, does a hot fix can be release through updater quickly and not wait two weeks please ? Because IMHO it's a critical issue... :detective:

Thank you for this thread. I don't own the F-5, but in the Mirage 2000 it is a really awful bug.

Is this the same bug with the Radar Power Selector in the M-2000C just want to make sure. Because I posted the bug in the M2000C Bug Reports.

 

I though it was something with my settings.
