Bummer, so the fixes LNS made for the Viggen (and broken MiG-21 FM) won't make it into 1.5 this week.... unless ED decides to update both builds at once, which I think never happened.

 

2.5 merge can't come soon enough.

Both have been updated together before now. Especially if the 1.5.6 is a hot fix, and 2.0.5 is rolled out with the latest modules added and nothing else new.

 

We can only hope.

Yeah I really can't wait till 2.5 is out. It's gonna be better for everyone. Be better for consumers because we don't need to have two installs, and we won't have one version behind the other. And it'll be better for ED because they don't need to work on keeping two separate versions updated.

 

Here's hoping it isn't too far away.

How about dynamic campaing ? I mean mbot has made one working one. Maybe it could come with dcs ? Full integrated i mean :)

 

Just hope that dcs will finally be better in game side too (simulation is allready very good) in 2.5

All aircraft modules (except the Spit and the Viggen) are available on all branches. With the upcomming friday patch the Spit and the Viggen will be added to 2.0 as well. The branches are independent of each other and which one(s) you want to use mainly depends on the map you want to fly (1.5 for Caucasus and 2.0 for Nevada).

Keep both installs for now Jack, you can then get the best of both while DCS is in this transition period

No information on that for sure, however some earlier builds remain currently including the old dx9 build 1.2.16 so I am guessing earlier builds will still be available

BN may not be sure but I am. Once v2.5 is released (which will merge everything), developement/patches for v1.x will cease. You may still be able to install it, or use the updater to roll back to it, but there will be no further work done on it.

 

It would make no sense to do anything else.

Yeah, it might be available to roll your install back to it, but it wont be supported in any way.

DCS modules are built up to a spec, not down to a schedule.

 

In order to utilize a system to your advantage, you must know how it works.

Now its looking like the Viggen update might not make it to ED in time for the update tomorrow, if this is the case, then the Viggen will not be available in 2.0 yet. Sorry guys.

 

Spitfire is still a go though.
