kingpinda Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 Here is a pic of how I mounted mine. I saw somewhere else where a user made an aluminum plate to replace the u-bracket. I used 2 aluminium corner profiles to attach to the bracket as seen on this photo. I didn't replace the U-Bracket. Its still there :) https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=168586&d=1504468480

Its still there :) Yes, I had seen your pic, and that is a good idea. The other one I was referring to was an aluminum plate, attached directly to the base in place of the U-bracket, in ran down the front of the base, then was bent underneath (with clearance for the base), and had mounting holes drilled in the bottom. I'm sure will seem some other examples. I do really like the simplicity of yours.

The problem with this stick is that its advertised as a big stick not suitable for desktop which was fine with me since i wanted an extented center mounted stick. This is only temporary untill I have drawn out my cockpit layout. But as Virpil has stated you can also turn around the base so you can have the mounting bracket facing the chair. That way you can mount it at the underside of the chair or something or even with those dedicated seats you might be able to come up with a simple solution. Then afterwards you only need to invert the axis by means of the Virpil software.

Hoffster Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Doing some testing with my T-50 after getting it back now. Using the warthog stick with it. I get double commands for each button press. Down on press and Up on release, On on press and off on release. Is this default? or some setting?.
Gizzy Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Not quite sure what you mean by double commands Hoffster... what are using to see this? Of course, all switches are of the momentary type with windows recognising when a DX switch is down and when not.... Down on press and Up on release, On on press and off on releaseis as expected... If when using windows CP game controller settings you see a constant red light when you hold a switch down and which goes out when you release, it as it should be...

I use both the vkb joytester and vpc tester. For example it shows 9 up on pressing trim hat up and 9 down on releasing it. It looks like it is not momentary but doing a press on release as well. Never mind. All my controls do this. Edited January 26, 2018 by Hoffster

Barefoot Bandit Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 CH grip on VPC base: https://imgur.com/a/wPJ2T F-16'ish grip without "dead weight". :D Interesting, I'm sure some would be curious about the connection method. On a side note, for the software, I think it needs a little more de-bugging, when I tried ot upfdate the firmware (following the outlined procedure on the VPC page), the Mongoos profile (the only one you can select) pretty much kills the stick. It doesn't respond to calibration, and all the buttons appear to be "always on". After trying a few times, I started looking at the folder and realised there were 2 other files I was not seeing when in the software. After typing "*.*" (ah, the good old days of DOS...), the other two profiles came up. Once I selected it and loaded it to the joystick - all was perfect. Not sure if this has affected anyone else, but it had me scratching my head for a good hour or so, especially as I had just done a cam swap, and was worried I had screwed up a pin or cable or something. mr_mojo97 Posted February 3, 2018 Posted February 3, 2018 I'm looking to buy the desk mount, warthog plate and extensions from Virpil or a similar one from Monstertech. Probably the only downside, is the distance from the desk to the gimbal mount is not adjustable, it sits kind of far back. Not an issue for me really as I game in VR, but could see it being a little problematic for monitor users as it sits kind of far back. The Monster Tech mount, while pricey, can be adjusted. Karon Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 It sits quite back otherwise, when using extensions and pushing the stick, it (or your hand) my hit the support itself. I have the issue as yours but I just drag the monitor closer to me every time. Not the best solution, but it works well.
