** AJS-37 Changelog / Update Master List **

 

The real-life radar in Viggen is not tuned to make out individual buildings. From what has been described to us, you could make out Globen-sized buildings but nothing else. Ships on the other hand where clearly visible even on long ranges but that has more to do with the large contrast the ships make against the background water. You can see the shape and orientation of the ships in DCS:Viggen right now if you haven't noticed :)

You can actually see the shape of a ship on the Viggens radar? Like the Kuznetsov carrier in the picture above with it's small bow and broad stern?

I thought the Viggen just shows a generic dot (or rectangle?) that varies in size and shape according to the ships' size and aspect (the dot is broader or smaller depending on front or side aspect), but doesn't show the actual ship shape?

I agree real-life Viggen radar doesn't have the resolution of modern, digital radars, but still I would expect to see *something* when Las Vegas is in front of me. Maybe it can be done with your current implementation, I don't know, but using ED SDK sounds like a viable and bug-proof way, when it's available.

.... here is a little list of some of the upcoming changes due to next update of DCS.

 

- Radios implemented and fixed

- Fixes to automatic fuel regulator

- Fixes to afterburner at height

- Rb04 no longer launching when re-armed

- Correction to TILS-stations numbering past 20

- Multiple potential CTDs fixed

- TILS-layer switch not switching back fixed

- TAKT/Out not showing rightmost station fixed

 

The big thing here is the radios that now should be working as intended (there where multiple issues with it).

They don't always put 3rd party changelogs in their DCS changelog. The fixes should still be part of the update. The fixes for the Mirage 2000 are also not listed.

ok, will cross my fingers and hope that the update will indeed include these fixes for the Viggen ... I guess we will know in a couple of days.

Don't worry guys! ED don't have our patch-notes because none of us gave it to them! See https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diffusion_of_responsibility

 

I don't think a build for 1.5.6 is even compatible with 1.5.7. We update our module files on EDs server every week, after its been vetted by the QA-crew for one week. So any build is at most two weeks old that is included in DCS updates. Keeping Viggen compatible with the rapidly advancing DCS-framework is a necessity just like it would in any other alive and well software project.

Is there some progress regarding the kneeboard issues? Is still have no luck with adding custom files like the startup which are shown as a transparent window with a border. I'm using the kneeboard builder variant as well as the manual way...

im using custom kneeboards since day 1 only problem i found a the bindings. If your kneeboard is implemented correctly you should see your pages after or before the transparent pages. until now, i have no clue how to get rid of those transparent pages.

Found the ones of the warfare mod but seems that the kneeboard builder has some problems after all.

1.That the homing type of the anti-ship missile homing head .For client(1-4) and A.I. (1-5)?

If the plane is destroyed then the missile also explodes?

Is not the ASM to continue to fly in route?

 

2.ARAK mode burnst count The possibility of regulating the flight of unguided missiles from the block 1-3-6?(or only Series\Impulse).

At least they fixed the Navigation System cold start error (where the HUD showed 2147483647 on the bottom and the HSI didnt initially showed the direction to the current waypoint).

 

 

But there are still bugs, for example when I fire my two Rb15 the TAKT display keeps showing 010010, like the missiles were still on board ... it should change to 000000.

 

 

Would love to have a changelog, just to be sure what has been fixed, rather than having to experiment to find out :(

I didn't notice any changes in the last patch. Trimming is still problematic, model animations are non-existant, unlimited ammo doesn't work, etc. I don't know why they are taking this long to polish this thing, perhaps they are busy with the F-14 right now, so it's worth the wait.

Changelog for 1.5.7. Sorry for the delay.

 

There are plenty of changes. Major ones:

 

  • Implemented various Radio functionality

  • Fixes to the Automatic Fuel Regulator

  • Fixes to afterburner at altitude

  • RB-04 no longer launching (exploding) when re-armed

  • Correction to TILS-stations numbering past 20

  • Multiple potential CTDs fixed

  • Corrected TILS-layer switch not switching back

  • Updated and fixed CN locale

  • Fixed distance time line getting stuck relative to horizon when in sidewinder fast select mode

  • Fixed backup sights

  • Probable fix to kneeboard

  • Fixed startersound

  • Re-added playsound for Walkman

  • Wave 1 of input overhaul

  • Radio is now pre-configured to nearest airfield

  • Fixed issue with FR22 radio becoming unusable after moving radio function selector

  • Fixed broken easter egg

  • Tuned pylon x,y,z coordinates

I started flying the Viggen a couple of weeks ago after flying the F-5 for a while and the first thing I noticed is the plane is lacking several animations.

To name a few:

- Wheel rotation while taxiing is off, really off. I looks weird, as if the airplane is sliding around.

- My radar stick is not moving (it's supposed to right?)

- Throttle linkage

- ̶C̶a̶n̶n̶a̶r̶d̶s̶

- Moving wing surfaces shake all the time

- Thrust reverser on or off, no trantision in between.

- Engine nozzle

- No turbine animation (the back of the engine looks rather crude and incomlete). Made a thread about this in the bug section.

When activating the reverser you are supposed to see a smooth transition between the off and the on position. In my game the change is instantaneous. Tried repairing, and it solved the cannard problem, they are moving now, but the rest is still problematic.
