Mr_sukebe Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Well, it was said that 2.5.6 will come with a core Combined Arms overhaul Source? 7800x3d, 5080, 64GB, PCIE5 SSD - Oculus Pro - Moza (AB9), Virpil (Alpha, CM3, CM1 and CM2), WW (TOP and CP), TM (MFDs, Pendular Rudder), Tek Creations (F18 panel), Total Controls (Apache MFD), Jetseat
ED Team NineLine Posted January 10, 2020 Author ED Team Posted January 10, 2020 Sooooo.... I see a mention of possibly adding working search lights. Can I now petition for an AI Lancaster bomber and either an Me 410 or late model Bf 110 nightfighter? Please? Pretty please?? You can line up behind me on all those requests :) Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
wasizyayo Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Are you willing to revise your existing User Manual for DCS World 2.5.6? The current User Manual feels old
ED Team NineLine Posted January 10, 2020 Author ED Team Posted January 10, 2020 Source? 2.5.6 has a pretty major fix for pathfinding and how it affects FPS and MP servers. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
xvii-Dietrich Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Thanks for the update, ED. The Channel Map was no surprise, that was leaked back in 2018 (ref). ;) Very happy to see the mention of searchlights! Also good to see that M45 AAA on its way. But, can you please add it to the Japan roster too? (I'm thinking ahead to a Marianas WW2 scenario, and being able to put some AAA - anything! - on the Japanese side would be appreciated!) But London wasn't seeing a ton of action in 44-45. I disagree. Maybe not massive-raids like what were happening over the Reich, but still action (involving the numbers of aircraft that we'd see in DCS anyway). For example... London was a target of Operation Steinbock (Jan-May 1944). Hit-and-run tactics continued thereafter, often with Jabos. The last raid was Operation Giesla (March 1945) with Axis/Allied aircraft losses of 22-v-24 on that occasion. Also over 2300 V-1 flying-bombs reached London, with the first being in June 1944. Over 1300 V-2 rockets were fired against London. Only April 1945 had things quietened down.

To get London, we would have lost more of France, and I think the balance this map has right now is better. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Ala12Rv-watermanpc Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Is my understanding that the work in the s-3 viking means work in the future improved AtA refueling right? I remember it was supposed to be the first one getting this new feature. Take a look at my MODS here
ED Team NineLine Posted January 10, 2020 Author ED Team Posted January 10, 2020 I did. There was no "performance boost", it's as slow as ever. And once again you're telling us all the things that, according to you, this sim isn't meant to do. What *is* it supposedly good for? And does this mean they'll try to sell us yet another map someday that's appropriate for 1941 London? Everyone I have seen has seen some sort of performance boost with Normandy. Not sure why you are not. I am telling you the focus of the map, it doesn't include London, so you can let that go I think. It includes highly detailed areas in the UK and France and will be good for ground attack missions, escort and intercept, etc. Normandy was more about all the action is over France. This is more about France, UK and the channel. As always, the purchase is optional. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
ED Team NineLine Posted January 10, 2020 Author ED Team Posted January 10, 2020 Roger THAT! Some great sales work there, Norm. What am I supposed to say to you, if you don't like a map, then you are not forced to buy it? Or you can buy it and put it on your Youtube page... either way. This is what is coming. As with anything new, it's up to the individual to want to buy it or not. I am telling you the detail on the UK side alone will make it a lot of fun... but that is me, and you are you. Anyone that loves cross channel WWII action will love this map. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Quekel Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Happy to see they are working on performance with the Vulkan API, but it didn't mention any VR specific updates which was quite dissapointing. Was hoping they would have some people working on VR performance.
Teldja Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 The Normandy map doesn't have detailed UK towns and ports, or even airfields. The Channel map is farther North, with detailed UK and France. It will also work down the road if we get some BoB aircraft as well. Exactly and this looks fantastic. And yet both maps are including the same countries in the same setting during the same period of time, at least for France and England. The map could go all the way from the North of Bretagne (Dinard is already on the Normandy Map) to the Netherlands, including the South of England, this would be amazing ! So why the merging of both maps to create a new one wasn't an option ? Out of curiosity, is it a technical problem ? A contract issue with Ugra Media ? Both ? Or something else ? Thank you for taking the time to reply. I am looking forward to enjoy all the new improvements the developers have been working on.

Was hoping they would have some people working on VR performance. It's literally the whole point of Vulkan if you read the Newsletter: ;) In order to improve game performance, particularly in VR and take advantage of today’s hardware, we have been working on the integration of the Vulkan API into DCS World over the past year. This is an important undertaking, but we believe it will be well worth the end-results. unknown Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Not available in SP if you don't own it, will be visible in MP if you don't own it. So the overhauled Kuznetsov 3d model is only aviable with the payware Supercarrier, which i don't have any use for....that is a little disappointing. Well DCS is still limited to size for one thing, secondly, Normandy is a 3rd Party map, we cant just take and merge it to ours. Maybe one day, once Vulkan is here and we can break through the limit on map size, but right now this is where we are, we have to do chunks of maps. For fighter vs fighter, ginormous maps dont even really make sense, but would love to see the long range missions one day. Harlikwin Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Discounts dont stack, so the Hornet Owner Discount will come after release. Will not be available during pre-order/Early Access. What exactly doe this mean? No discount for hornet owners if we decide to buy it after pre-order while its still in EA or what? And how much will the hornet discount be, will the pre-order discount be larger or the same or what? New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. It means that discounts don't stack, so the Hornet Owner one won't take effect till after release, and what that means is Hornet Owners will probably see something close to the Preorder discount. Basically, if you are a Hornet owner, you get to have the discount longer than others. I dont have the exact numbers on the discount, but I think, as I said, it will be very close to the Pre-order discount... dont expect a 50% to 70% discount or anything like that. I for one am delighted with cross channel detailed WW2 action and am really looking forward to it. Harlikwin Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 A few more questions. Upgraded Kuz is only for the Supercarrier owners or will it be in the general game? And in terms of "testing" the Dynamic campaign in 2020, is that internally or will it be in open beta? As for the Syra and Falklands maps, are those actually on plan for this year or just an update that they are being worked on? New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog.
