ED Team Wags Posted January 19, 2018 ED Team Posted January 19, 2018 Just as we are doing for the updated Caucasus map, we will also be using SpeedTrees (trees and bushes) for the SoH map. The attached are images are work-in-progress, first look at the new tree tech in the SoH map. 1 Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/wagmatt Twitch: wagmatt System: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3729544#post3729544

FragBum Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 Awesome detail can'[t wait to get that resolution in VR and watch as the wind buffers the branches. :D Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment. Gazelle Mini-gun version is endorphins with rotors. See above. Goblin Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 (edited) Very nice! How much of a performance gain is there, using SpeedTrees? The trees look very real, and that Hornet River video had a incredibly smooth appearance. Edited January 20, 2018 by Goblin
EntropySG Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 good time ahead!! thanks for the update :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Sephyrius Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 Hope there will be some decent forested areas, having picked up Nevada way back when for collidable trees only to find there to be hardly any was kinda a letdown, much like how speedtree for Normandy would be huge whereas for SoH, well...
StandingCow Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 Aside from the questions about performance gains... how long does something like this take? I assume the trees and forests are hand placed through brushes or something? Thanks Wags! 5900X - 32 GB 3600 RAM - 1080TI My Twitch Channel ~Moo

RabidRider Posted January 20, 2018 Posted January 20, 2018 (edited) That looks just great! Variation adds so very much to the sense of realism. This will be another fantastic map for helicopters. Others have mentioned it before, but I too hope that over the years, the others maps will get more different speedtree models as well. Just that extra mile for perfection. Please ED :) Edited January 20, 2018 by RabidRider
