jpm1 Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 No more than 3 units , i begin VBL (vehicule blinde leger - light armoured vehicle) Leclerc battle tank NH-90 SU-25 missions [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
SuperKungFu Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 call me crazy but i feel like shooting down some civilian/cargo planes An-225 747 (Air Force One) And maybe a B-2 Would like to see when a missile hits it, it spins towards the ground. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Colt40Five Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 How about more gun based AAA? http://www.enemyforces.com/artillery/zu23.htm And this just looks cool... http://www.enemyforces.com/artillery/tos.htm And a must have....the Jaguar! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

brewber19 Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I want a Monkeylord Mk II...oh wait....wrong game :( Seriously though, in an add-on I'd like to see Jaguar, Harrier, Tornado (Gr)...with AFM and 6DOF. If you only meant ground units...more AAA stuff and, frankly, an ground enemy with a IQ greater than 2 who maneouvre when under attack...that more than any unit. PS. I'm a brit....can you tell? nscode Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 How about more gun based AAA? :) Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.
Alfa Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Those VBLs look like humvee knock-offs. Look closer Prophet - they look nothing like the Hummer ;) . JJ
Joe Kurr Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 How about some civilian people? Right now the only people to walk the Lockon landscape carry Stingers or Iglas. It would be more realistic if there were some civilians about too (not just cars) This would also be cool for us demo pilots to create an airshow crowd along the runway :) Dutch Flanker Display Team | LLTM 2010 Tiger Spirit Award
EricJ Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Look closer Prophet - they look nothing like the Hummer ;) . I think he's been staring at the screen waaaaaaay too much, there's no direct similarity no matter how you cut it.. Prophet Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 The front looks almost the same. The hood looks almost the same. Only thing I can see diff, is its 2 door versus 4 door, and the front windows has some slant to it. Bah whatever, :D :P both ya Oh, and maybe we can see 'insurgent' unit. You know they look civilian, but they still fire at ya :) Maybe some MG mounted in the back of a toyota lol.
EscCtrl Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 Lots of civilian aircraft like SuperKungFu said. Would love if Lockon could connect with FSX and one team had to protect the airliners while they tried to land and the other had to gun them all down yeah im a mean person :P

hitman Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Id like to see some battleships...Ive mentioned this before. Aside from that, mine sweepers and Aegis Class cruisers would be nice...(if its there allready Im blind.)
nscode Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 now that you mention minesweepers... how about land mines :) Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.
MBot Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 now that you mention minesweepers... how about land mines :) Has been introduced with patch 1.12 :) Check your static objects. As for the Aegis cruiser, its class name is Ticonderoga wich is already present aswell :)
SUBS17 Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 I have a ground unit request: 1/ entire infantry battalions moving by foot/dug in 2/ Logistics convoys 3/ Tank Battalions 4/ Mech infantry battalions 5/ Engineer battalions 6/ Artillery convoys 7/ support vehicles 8/ AI reaction to Air threat/ Artillery/ enemy units. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
MBot Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 4/ Mech infantry battalions Already in LOMAC, check the last entrys of the russian ground vehicle page. It has a Motor Rifle Battalion for both 1980 and 1990. Will add a group of about 70 units. Good luck letting Lock On handel that :) Man that would be a missiondesigners dream to have a engine that can handel the ground war of that scale, both in numbers and AI. Just saying "I want a tank battalion here" and the engine makes inteligent deployment of the units ( no 70 unit convoy... ). I'm realy curious how well the ground AI of BS will be improve. I expect some good changes with the anti-air aspect, as this is realy about necessary. Other than that I don't think we will see the ground units getting a "true AI". Right now all units just follow their waypoints path without any initiative. What would be realy nice are units that have general waypoint objectives but maneuver for themselfe, like searching for cover or hull down positions, pulling back for turret down positions for reloading, changing battlepositions during combat, trying to flank enemys etc. Modeling armored warfare is a complex thing I know. It would almost require a tanksim in itselfe. On the other hand the enviornment of a attack chopper sim IS closer to a tanksim than to a fixed-wing flightsim. Microprose did a nice approach to this with Gunship!, wich was based on a tanksim engine. All problems of this sim aside, Gunship! realy had very nice simlated battlefield. A shame Tankplatoon 3was canceled, would have been a blast to link these two sims in MP. Btw, I like the suggestions of Kusch :)
VMFA117_Poko Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 I would like to see this ;): SA-3 S-125 Newa SA-4 2К11 Krug SA-5 S-200E Wega Gepard S-60 And NSW 12,7mm Kusch! Nice suggestions.
thereminqblank Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 AC-130H Spectre - not sure if they are in the game already. Btw, I like the suggestions of Kusch :) Yeah I've been playing a lot of ground attack scenarios recently and it really bothers me when all the vehicles move in a straight line convoy like that - sometimes only the front vehicle will do any attacking and the only 'intelligent' movement from anyone else will be to drive around dead vehicles :( Would take a lot of work to program anything substantial like you described though - always wondered whether a company like ED would ever consider teaming up with another developer so we could have online amtches where tank-sim-fans drive the land vehicles whilst us lot bomb them from 10k' :D AC-130H Spectre - not sure if they are in the game already. Would be fun to see one circling around and pounding some buildings... Definitley agree with that unit - saw a great video of a gunners view from one of those - launching all kinds of weaponary on a group of insurgents below :D

A shame Tankplatoon 3was canceled, would have been a blast to link these two sims in MP. Btw, I like the suggestions of Kusch :) Its the first step towards a dynamic campaign by having the vehicles deployed in groups such as is the case currently with the S300 SAM site etc. Instead of placing individual tanks and trucks you go up to the next level platoons, companies and battalions. For a jet sim such as A-10 or F-16 just having them grouped as platoons would be enough for missions. Maybe if the convoys had an air threat reaction such as whats in Falcon it might make it more challenging although you would have to research it as it might not be a matter of driving crazy all over the place. BTW the change in formation makes A/G work much more difficult maybe there could be an automatic formation change according to terrain or threat. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
