Cowboy10uk Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 Sadly another newletter passes and another week without news. I know ED will be doing there best to get this wonderful aircraft to us, but god I just wish we could get one sliver of news or info about the progress. Must admit I was hoping pre order would be live this month. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Fighter pilots make movies, Attack pilots make history, Helicopter pilots make heros. :pilotfly: Corsair 570x Crystal Case, Intel 8700K O/clocked to 4.8ghz, 32GB Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 3200 MHZ Ram, 2 x 1TB M2 drives, 2 x 4TB Hard Drives, Nvidia EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW, Maximus x Hero MB, H150i Cooler, 6 x Corsair LL120 RGB Fans And a bloody awful Pilot

It wouldn't be the first time that they delay something.
tapi Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 (edited) Well, unfortunately that is the common way ED works: they tease something new (show it in the DD, create new banner for the forum etc..), everyone start to think the release is just around the corner and then months of complete silence... Matis Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 I would love to see Wags posting some video of him flying the Mosquito, similar to what he did with the F-18. Keep it simple, start-take-off-flying around-land. Hell even maybe if possible he could be flying with Mosquito in new Marianas map

I expect it shortly as I see the Mossie in the Web Page banner which also usually just precedes the video.

And that banner has been there for quite a while now.

Bozon Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 They will not release the mossie before 2.7 version. Probably not at the same time as well - that doesn’t sound wise. My bet is on a release shortly after the v2.7 dust settles. “Mosquitoes fly, but flies don’t Mosquito” :pilotfly: - Geoffrey de Havilland. ... well, he could have said it!
rkk01 Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 Pure speculation, but with 2.7 slated for the end of March, then that could see the Mossie launched for Easter
Mogster Posted March 15, 2021 Posted March 15, 2021 Nice video. The cockpit looks tiny, the props seem very close. The rudder trim gauge is prominent and enormous... Love the way the pilot has to change hands on the stick to raise the gear. Awesome 1940s ergonomics Although I suppose the navigator could flip the switch if he could reach.
rkk01 Posted March 15, 2021 Posted March 15, 2021 (edited) Very little trim dialled in though... also seemed gentle on the throttles for the first inch or so, and the more rapid progression. Edited March 15, 2021 by rkk01

Test pilot Keith Skilling explains the throttle operation on take off in this video starting 2:45 (I don’t know how to link YT at a specific time stamp). There were two approaches to handling the torque on take off - one is to use asymmetric power to the engines (lead with one throttle forward to the other). The other is to start rolling with lower power until the rudder starts to take effect and then go to full. He also says they only go to +13 boost and not to +18 probably in order not to stress the precious engines too much. https://youtu.be/lCUk2L7RTnE Edited March 16, 2021 by Bozon “Mosquitoes fly, but flies don’t Mosquito” :pilotfly: - Geoffrey de Havilland. ... well, he could have said it!

Exceptional engineering...and a large hammer to make it fit!

razo+r Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 There's actually also videos for the K4 and P51. But I don't think they were pre-release showcases like it is the case with most videos nowadays.
Mogster Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 Aye, there are others. As the first WW2 multi engine multi crew module I’d be surprised if they don’t make a bit of a hoohah.
Koriel Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 All I know officially is what's been said in the first newspost from this year: Quote DCS: Mosquito FB MK.VI Our first new product of 2021 will be the impressive Mosquito. This will be our first multi-engine, multi-crew World War II aircraft for DCS World, and it will mark an important capability for future projects. The Mosquito is planned to be released into early access by the end of the 1st quarter of 2021. And Quote The wait is almost over, and the new clouds for DCS World will be introduced in the 1st quarter of 2021. In addition to being visually stunning, the new clouds will block visual and optical sensor line of sight and be synchronized online. We will initially release the new cloud system with an array of weather presets that will cater to most mission building scenarios. Later in the year, we will update the Weather Tool in the Mission Editor that will allow finer control of the clouds with a dynamic weather system based on a more advanced meteorological engine. So until someone from ED gives me an update on the release dates this is what I'm holding them up to.
