Dear heatblur,

The F-14B is a real FPS killer in VR, much more then other aircraft. I hope you aware of it!

EDIT: fiddle setting was in my case ASW setting too 45 fps. All is fine now. (FIXED)

Thanks,

Might be a problem with your system, our server has loads of people flying around in VR with no issues.

Wow guys really? I've gotten a few frame rate drops as well with TrackIR. I turned down some of my settings compared to other modules. This is normal. She's not going to come out of the oven perfect on the first day. We might get a hotfix before the next update, but "2 weeks" definitely applies here.

I don't even have VR and it went down to 20fps several times in no action zones. Well, a 3570K and a 1080 just don't cut it and I knew that. No reason to call for a refund though.

Maybe try and fiddle with settings a bit?

No issues here in VR (only played offline though). So far I can't notice any difference as to the other modules.

And I didn't even install Kegetys shader mod yet.

Odd, the performance on my system is similar to all other modules I own. Steady around 45fps with pd 1.2 and most settings high incl shadows.

Guys, it was known that this module would be heavier than the F-18 by a small margin. VR is really hardware intensive, use your brains... it's not heatblur's fault! The plane is really well optimized, but they can't do magic!

That's cute, but I bought it from Steam. They have their own refund policy. Plus ELUAs aren't worth the paper they're printed on (and they're rarely ever printed on paper, so...) and are totally unenforceable in many jurisdictions.

If you aren't interested in helping the developers troubleshoot and test why are you playing an Early Access module on OpenBeta?

I play at 4096x2160p with almost everything maxed except the cinematic stuff. I turned down my mirror from 1024 everyframe to 1024 and lowered my MSAA setting from 4x to 2x. Not a big deal it's the first day.

Look... I can run it in VR... I'm running a 980m on 4720 laptop... Its not great, but it does run sorta. Though some of the training missions get slideshow ish. I had to turn down settings to get it sorta go...

Early. Access.

And VR technology is hardly mature.

Hell, most of us can't even afford VR.

How about trying to help.

Have you guys tried clearing your fxo and metashaders folders... I find that the 14 is extremely stable when it comes to fps in VR

When I look in the metashader directory I see other directories are you sure we can delete them?

I have significantly worse performance in VR in the F-14, almost to the point where I'd say it's completely unplayable.

I tested multiple other aircraft on the same version and these perform as before.

Even rolling graphics options right back to minimums doesn't help.

I also tried deleting metashaders and fxo, reinstalling the NVidia drivers and tweaked various nVidia, pitool and steamVR settings, all to no avail.

I'm using the Pimax 5k+ by the way.

It's a shame, but I'll be unable to fly the F-14 until it's optimised.

Any folder in your saved games directory can be deleted as they get rebuilt on load. Not the metashaders in the install dir.

Whoa, whoa, if you have custom missions, skins, mods, etc. that's where they are kept. I have mods and work built up in that folder that would take weeks to replace. I keep it backed up on a separate share drive as well.

Deleting FXO and metashaders folders are fine though.
