I apologize for being "that guy." Lead is breaking off their attack while trail covers them, why is lead firing?

No Early Access?  Wishful thinking, but hopefully this goes well and starts a trend to get rid of EA and ship complete products on launch.

Hello everyone,
Do you know if the KIOWA OH-58D will be available on the STEAM platform ?
I'm pretty sure. To this day there are no DCS modules that are not available on both platforms.

It will. Why would anyone (ED or 3rd) party exclude a large market and revenue share?

Indeed,
but almost a week before the announcement of the official release, no announcement on the STEAM platform, that's why I'm asking the question.

thank you all and good flights

Pity indeed. But not from Polychop….

No EA, no pre-order, no discount…. pretty straightforward.

Why would there be a discount?

Hi, the answer is very obvious - you can collect more users in the short time and earn more. What does it mean?

If you give lanuch discount, for example to +1 week after the release (if no any pre order discount) more users will buy it in this period, even those who are not thinking about buying now because they have been tempted by the discount, even - and this is important - if they are not currently planning to play with the Kiowa. For example, I'm currently learning for Phantom (or whatever, I'm going on vacation, I don't have free time now), I know it will probably take me another 2 months, so why rush to buy? There's no need, because in 2 months if I need KW then I'll buy it for the same, full price (so no any reason to buy it now, right?). I would buy it now with a discount without hesitation, even knowing that I'll start flying KW in the next 2 - 3 months.  Thanks to this marketing move and pricing policy, not only will those who want to fly it now buy it, but also some who plan to fly it in the future, but they will buy it now. The rest of the sales will be spread over time, but thanks to the mobilization, the sales will be greater at the beginning because in a short time you will reach a larger number of users. 2 cents from my side.

Well, I guess they’ll just have to live with the consequences of their decision. But something tells me they’ll do just fine.

True! I'm not sure which one to buy: Kiowa or CH-47D. Since Kiowa doesn't have a discount, I'll wait for more information about the CH-47D, which will be released this month. Only then will I decide whether to buy the Kiowa or the CH-47D. In a year's time, Kiowa will be the same price, so there's no need to rush to buy it. It's better to wait and see what the community has to say before buying the Kiowa.

I feel the need to snatch at the Kiowa like a snatchy swipe-snatcher. I’ve seen those videos 🙂. Fair point though.

Would be nice to get a deal on it but a properly finished module on release I won’t complain about. It does look tidy. Chinook I think will be a ‘must have’ too. I’ve been trying out the choppers at last and loving it. The Loach got me out of my props for a bit, great little thing it is too.

The problem is that it will be released as "complete" and out of early access. So everything should be "perfect". You will pay full price at launch.

+1, I feel the same … when there is no discount for purchasing early, I will keep flying my current aircraft and defer purchasing the new one until I actually feel like flying something new.

Yes, I'm actually hesitating myself, since there's no discount on the launch, you can always buy it at full price anyway. I've also bought a CH-47, which will be released soon, of course on pre-sale. Although I really like Kiowa and I've been waiting for it from a long time but I know too I won't get flying it too soon. $70 for a few test flights and the awareness of having KW in the hangar is a bit expensive. Generally, there's no need to hurry, especially since, as always, there will probably be patches for KW for a next few months (I hope they also will change the terrible AI management and they will do it like for George and Petro, with 5 buttons instead of 22). By not giving a discount on the launch, they're consciously limiting the number of customers, which is strange to me, especially since we're simply used to it here, on DCS market. Overall, I don't think I've ever bought a module for DCS at full price, but it's not a problem for me to support the project at a discount and wait for the release even a few months (or purchase on sale). I'll think about it, but I'm willing to wait a while in the current situation when I will have bigger gap for flying on KW, so there is no need to hurry ;), we’ll see.

I for one applaud PC´s decision to charge full price for a feature complete product and even tho I´m not a Helicopter person I´ll buy day 1.

Never understood why Devs feel the need to de-value their product before they even sold a single copy. I certainly would go the other way around and charge 99.99 for the first 6 months or so - early adopters are generally willing to pay a premium, everyone else can wait for the price to drop and drool over YT videos.
