Better Smoke V22 for DCS 2.9

Question:

Is v19 compatible w/ v2.7.x? I've recently upgraded to v19 for 2.8 compatibility, and now I'm currently rolling back to v2.7.18.30765 (for far too many reasons), I've since deleted v18, and there's no link (that I can find) for v18.

Right click on the link.  Copy link.  Paste the link.  Change 19 to 18.

I seem to recall that at one point this mod also had an effect on the ship wake size/length. Given this from todays OB changelog, does this alleviate the need for this "fix" in the mod?

Looks like they implemented my values so this portion of the mod probably isn't needed anymore.  But I'll keep it to gives option for anyone who wants to edit it to make it longer.

Left is new default and right is Better Smoke.  And number right of my name was the old default value.

They done that before (tank and helo dust etc) and credited already so I'm actually glad that they're including it so it passes IC.

@Taz1004 If I just wanted to double the length of the current default (your old modded value) wake trail for the SC only which values do I need to "play" with just length and particle count? I did up the particle count and the length, but the wake was very "thin" toward the end, unnaturally so.

I increased it to 4000 and looks okay to me.  You could play with the scale and width.  But the images I saw, they do tend to taper off.

From some of our perspectives, the older 2.5 version (v9) of this smoke mod portrayed the most realistic smoke, but then the 2.7 update changed the core smoke features. Is there any plan at ED to update the smoke to make it look more realistic, and less think/chunky? 

Currently, if you bomb a tree-line, it lights up in a massive fireball like an oil depot...

@Taz1004 Hi Taz, this MOD now appears to cause the smoke markers to go crazy with the latest OB 2.8.3.37556 and creates what almost looks like a napalm effect.

Please see attached screenshot, this does not appear to happen unless using the MT EXE.

DOWNLOAD For DCS 2.8 OB Multi Thread:

IC Fail version for Multi-Thread:  Better Smoke V19SP MT

 

IC Safe version seems to work fine for me so no change needed there.
