melchionda Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 Hey folks, I have a ton of usb plugs plugged into my PC. Its a bit of a mess and I'm actually running out of sockets. Does anyone have a recommendation for a USB hub that is rock solid and has been working well for them? I'm looking for around 8 to 10 usb ports. Also, I'm looking for a solution to help me better manage my button mappings and I was also wondering if there is any problem with Windows keeping track of various USB device IDs when you use a hub. Hi I had a similar problem to many USB's not enough sockets. I used a SupaGeek PCI-E to Type C (1), Type A (4) USB 3.0 5-Port PCI Express Expansion Card from Amazon and a similar one with 5 USB outlets plugged straight into the motherboard, no problems and dead easy. I am slightly suspicious of multi port desk top hubs , hence the PCI route. Regards button mappings, if your talking Joystick then RSmapper is well useful, I did a search and found on here, there are also YOUTUBE vids on how to set it up. Hope that helps. Bob1943 Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Get a powered USB hub. I have this Anker unit, works great. All of my flight sim hardware is plugged into it. https://www.amazon.com/Upgraded-Anke.../dp/B005NGQWL2 I always plug the same hardware (stick, throttle, etc.) USB plugs into the same slots on the Anker unit. I even have the ports on the Anker unit labeled, i.e., stick, throttle, rudders, MFDs, etc. Seems to keep everything straight when I open DCS.

bomber Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 This is the best hub ive had, --- It is powered and has on off switches for each usb which I like. sometimes/rarely! I 'm not simming and just want my mouse. https://www.amazon.co.uk/splitter-Individual-Switches-Charging-Extension/dp/B07VGFXQRF/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=atolla+hub&qid=1605252558&sr=8-4 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] This must be reality, no sim can have this many bugs! 13700kf, 4090, 64gb. Had a similar one for one year and suddenly several usb ports stopped working. It was awfully getting hot, when powered with the AC adapter. I went for one, made from aluminium and ever since the usb devices never disconnect. I can recommend the ‚ICY BOX IB-AC6110‘. emc Posted January 18, 2021 Posted January 18, 2021 I'm using 2x IB-HUB1701-U3 https://www.raidsonic.de/products/external_cases/mm_cardreader/index_pl.php?we_objectID=4914 I'm highly recommend, quality is nice and metal cover and separate port switches are perfect so you can turn off/on required devices. Raidsonic have smaller and bigger hubs so you should find something for you. Rudel_chw Posted January 18, 2021 Posted January 18, 2021 (edited) I don't really trust the external hubs and justify them only for notebook users. I use an old aluminum computer case (this one: https://www.newegg.com/silver-thermaltake-armor-atx-full-tower/p/N82E16811133155) so when I started to run out of USB ports (after getting my Oculus Rift) I added these two accesories to my PC: 1) This one is to replace the USB 2.0 ports of my case, with usb 3.0 versions .. I use it to plug pendrives and my phone, it's available in black or silver: https://es.aliexpress.com/item/33052171975.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.3da763c0WwVRVd 2) This one was for adding 2 more USB 3.0 ports on the back of the PC .. I chose this specific model because I also wanted an internal USB 3.0 socket for future front panel accesories: https://es.aliexpress.com/item/4001184793953.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.3da763c0WwVRVd There are also 4 port models, but my motherboard already has 8 USB ports of various types, so four more seemed like an overkill: Cheers. Taz1004 Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 You definitely need one with individual power buttons. You'll get Not Enough USB Resources crap if you plug too many. Also, get one that also has power only hub. You'll want stuff you want to charge without taking up your PC's USB resource. Bailey Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 I have used this and it is great. I’d recommend it for every sim-pit setup. Unfortunately, it is currently unavailable in some countries. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07Q3TYF15/ DCS VoiceAttack Profiles | My Mods and Utilities on ED User Files | DiCE: DCS Integrated Countermeasure Editor DCS Update Witching Utility | DCS-ExportScripts for Stream Deck Community Github Library | Kiowa Integrated Overlays
