Very cool screenshots! Some of those liveries looks superb.

One thing that I'm wondering though, is whether it will be possible to change the fuselage/tail numbers for (at least some of) them using the mission editor. For example, in the attached image, there is "6136". Will it be possible for us to change that in part/full (e.g. to "1234" or even just "6137") without needing to create an entire new skin? The reason for asking is with regard to multiplayer. Some aircraft have hard-baked numbers, which make them problematic when you are trying to host a module on a public server, and you want them to be identifiable/distinguishable in some way.

Thanks again for posting the screenshots, @6S.Duke. Very, very nice work.

The 61 shouldn't change because it marks the 61st jet training wing (which operates most jet trainers in the AMI). Otherwise yeah, it would be nice if the designation numbers could change.

Unfortunately, the MB-339A is the aircraft of the italian Air Force with the highest number of variations...
-the white/orange with factory numbers, then the big numbers in front.
-the camouflaged with big numers in front, then moved back with different shape, then small roundels first with big numbers and the last years of this livery we have the small ones.
-the monogray with the numbers in rear and then in front again (and also must be take in consideration that numbers over 99 required shifting to the left all the things...).
Moreover the same consideration must be taken for the liveries of the other countries.
Really, considering the numbers of variations and how the dynamic bort numbers are done (cutting polygons and placing accordingly in the right place), it's unconvenient to realyze.
We have instead preferred enabling the decal layer: you can copy liveries references in a new folder and then modify/create only the layer with numbers (and change/add things usually not available with bort like insignia, pilot names, or small variations) sharing the same base livery.

Looking awesome, Duke! I didn't realize that little 339 could pack so much of a punch!

Yup, a trainer but a little warrior, if necessary...
Just an O.T.: in the 339 family I consider a "bad boy" the K variant: at the cost of 1 crew member you have another internal fueltank and 2 fixed Defa 30mm Cannon, plus a bonus of about 2KN of thrust from the powerful Mk680 Viper engine variant(500lbs of increase in MTOW): this traduced in no need to carry auxiliary fueltanks or gunpods thus freeing up all six pylons for use of live armament. Moreover, RWR/ECM suite and ALE40 chaff/flare dispenser assured a good chance to survive in hostile environments. Sadly, unlike the good success of the older 326K, this variant failed to gain orders and only the prototype was built.😪

Yea the -K is really cool, although between the AMX, Hawk, L-39 etc it was a bit of a tough sell at the time imo. I do wish they'd saved the Veltro 2 name for something that actually went in mass production though (like the AMX).

As promised a couple of weeks ago, here is a .pdf file an in-depth technical update on our MB-339 for DCS.
This time the focus is on the damage model, its effects and how it correlates to failures and systems operation.

On a more general note, we are very happy about the quality and the level of detail we have reached with this project. Unfortunately, we have been experiencing some delays with respect to our original schedule and, at the moment, we have not a release date we can share with you.
One of our main targets is not to deliver an half-baked product - so, as usual, "it is done when it is done" - we'll keep you posted!

Today we want to share with you an excerpt of the real world flight manual which shows where we are with the development - long story short, we are a little behind our original schedule... but while there is some more work to do, we are not that far from a release build (which is a complex way to say that - as usual - "it is done when it is done")...3db6a2139bd3035b73aa8b27b9e22fce.jpg

What do you think about this feature on our MB-339?
The algorithm for ice formation computation takes into account the cabin temperature, the relative humidity in cockpit and the canopy surface temperature.
With this, the simmer will have to manage the cabin temperature manually in order to avoid the ice formation during the flight as in real-life procedures.
