docvego Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Overlordbot is an amazing project and having these APIs accessible is a great idea and worth the effort.
CaptPabs Posted June 24, 2021 Posted June 24, 2021 Yes please, fully support the above. Please implement.

StandingCow Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 It would be nice to get some sort of feedback from ED on this. 5900X - 32 GB 3600 RAM - 1080TI My Twitch Channel ~Moo
Poulet67 Posted December 17, 2021 Posted December 17, 2021 I support this. Eagle Dynamics: We need better scripting API support, across the board.
rurounijones Posted September 19, 2022 Author Posted September 19, 2022 (edited) With this post confirming work on ATC features: https://www.facebook.com/eagle.dynamics/posts/10166982283080341 I am reiterating my hope that ED can de-couple the main ATC logic from the F10 user interface and provide mission scripting environment APIs so that we can implement alternative interfaces in both single and multiplayer environments. b0bl00i Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 I play online twice a week with a Swedish dcs community. We have our own atc and awacs, real dude working as air traffic control in real life. It's so awesome to talk to him during taxi takeoff, tasking and landings. Having something similar in dcs sorted by ai would be awesome.
gnomechild Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 Yes please! Would be a huge benefit for all DCS players. Being able to speak rather than fumble through radio menus would be so great
Turkey219 Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 This sounds like a great idea! I think this would help with the player organization on public servers by a long shot.
AegisFX Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 I absolutely hope we see this idea come to life. build it in so it doesn't become an issue down the line. HILOK Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 +1 being able to communicate to ATC/AI using voice is such an important part of the whole experience. @Hollywood_315 has proven with VAICOM how well this can already be implemented in DCS, and for me it kills the immersion not being able to do this. 1
BavarianPilot Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 +1 Please ED, surprise us. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://www.spare-time-pilots.de Twitch BavarianPilot Youtube BavarianPilot
BMGZ06 Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 I support this request 100%. The in game menu system is old and clunky and needs to be totally revised. It is totally immersion breaking and vaicom made the game far more immersive and fluid with comms. If Hollywood could make vaicom on his own then surely ED can do it and since they have total access to their code they should be able to make something even better. 1 System Specs: 13900K, Strix Z790 Gaming E, MSI 4090 Sprim Liquid X OC'd, 64gb Gskill Trident Z DDR5, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 SSD,. Pickles Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 +1 With the likely demise of VaicomPro and the surprising number of users searching for a fix to get it working again in 2.8, it's obvious that there is a real need for this functionality in DCS. Disappointing that there been no ED response to @rurounijones request or engagement with the idea, so the more advocacy that community members make to encourage ED to opening-up the APIs the better. Personally, VaicomPro was a real game-changer for DCS. We need this functionality more than cloud eye-candy. 4
tomcat_driver Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 (edited) 100% This should be a priority. Especially now that we have more and more multicrew modules. The Apache should had been built from the start with that mind. Edited October 30, 2022 by tomcat_driver 1
