Thx for screenshot and small update!  Looks nice and promising. :thumbup:

BUT Pls also test the map in VR mode and optimalize it for VR users. Its very important thing.

Dont do the same mistake like Razbam with his SA map (performance issues) 

I hope you use the same SDK like ED/Ugra (for example for Syria or PG map), as I know Razbam is used different SDK and the problem is here I suppose.

Btw. can you show us the whole area covered in DCS by this map? I saw this picture in one topic (the whole area, not only red box), Id like to know is it true or not. Thx.

Is this area that will be available in full on the release day?

Does the rest of the map shown (large rectangle divided into six squares) have any significance? Or is the square in red the final, planned map size?

 

OnReTech confirmed that that's the high detail area inside the red box.  The rest of the area, the grid boxes, is included.

Suez Canal could be an interesting strategic feature…

Not sure if any canals have featured in DCS - would obviously need to be navigable…

Wasn't this a mission in one Ace Combat game? Might be an interesting scenario, I really hope the canal is navigable and that AI ships are able to sail through it without pulling an Ever Given. 🙂 Speaking of which, we really need a big, green container ship to go with the map...

We can't compare with another map, because Sinai map uses different technologies, different number and quality of objects and textures, etc..

Now we are checking and optimizing performance on different hardware configurations and with different graphics settings.

Looks like we'll have to pull out HMS Akrotiri as a flat top,  and base her off the coast instead!

I think we are implementing standard airfields throughout the entire territory (1000x1500 km), we have already come up with a technology for how to do this. They will not look like airfields in real life. I think it will be a good solution for AI to use them in missions.

Typical airfield - runway, taxiways, hangars. I didn't think how they would look, but I think we'll find a solution.

I think that we will deal with this after early access.

Cairo West Air Base will look the same as Abu Suweir Air Base and the same as any other airport and airbase in your product?

Ah No, Cairo West will be unique, I mean airfields that are not included in our plan.

All airfields that we declared will be unique.

Thanks first of all for the map, I can't wait to fly on it! One question out of curiousity:

Will Egyptian SAM revetments be included or should we add them manually in the mission editor? Egypt is full of them, the picture below is just the currently active ones we can see on publicly available imagery. If you need any help to find SAM revetments, I would be happy to provide a .kmz file with hundreds of active and empty sites. It's not a must have but I am just curious and hyped 🥲

Egyptian SAM will not be included in the map. This is not possible with map tools (TDK).
