I deployed for a year looking forward to the F-4 being released upon my return. Checked every week for an update. I hope my leave doesn’t run out before it releases!

Have a safe deployment. I know what that's like. 

As for "Near Completion", that's a positive. However, it still possibly has to go to ED for review and release. So with 30-ish days left in 2022, lets not lean too far forward and fall on our faces.

Nearing completion could mean anywhere between weeks and months away. Just speculating about delays don't really work out though, especially when we don't really know how severely the impact was from the hurdles that Cobra mentioned.

Yeah, I mean you can certainly smoke your hopeium if you got it, but honestly I'd be pretty surprised if it was out in Dec with like 0 hype/marketing. Which I'd assume we would see by now if it was happening.

Ya never know, we could get the "12 days of Phantom Christmas" and release on January 5th. Each day is a different video on how to utilize the Phantom

Tbh I think that them announcing an update for the viggen in December with no news for the Phantom is a soft "Probably not this year". Of course the hopium answer is that they're not answering anything for the Phantom to increase shock value when it's release date announcement drops but idk.

I was thinking exactly that when I saw the Viggen post earlier today. However, I have never seen a module that is being kept so much under wraps and little to no information on which leads to endless amount of directions...

It doesn't take that long to create the amount of hype they're looking for. I found out about the January trailer within 5 minutes of it being dropped because the discords I was in went nuts for a bit. I'd say a week maybe week and a half would be all that's needed to get people on board. Then let streamers and youtubers make videos all winter break.

Will we have any news in today's bulletin? I'm curious to know if we'll see the F-4 this year. Does the HB team work in Ukraine? I see people commenting that the module was delayed because of the war.

I believe someone from HB mentioned that the war was a factor because there were team members in Ukraine.

I heard that it was two employees living in ukraine doing the 3D modeling and such and that combined with another one having some personal problems causing essentially a modeling bottleneck.

As much as I think the "sudden release, just going to appear on the store unannounced" thing is pure hopium, I have to admit is that the shock factor and I guess "Good vibes" they'd get for dropping this year, even if it was literally a "OK we finished it on the 29th, give ED a day to receive and upload the module then drop the 31st" would be Earth shattering. Just something we don't really see in the DCS community. Sort of happened with the MB-339 but the hype for that plane isn't near the same level as for the Phantom. Like comparing opening a soda can to popping the lid off a pressure cooker.

Not as crazy as if some modern jet like the Mig29 were to drop because there's always the chunk of the community who are just "here to sling AMRAAMs on Hoggit, if you don't have fox-3s you're a joke lol lmao, they need to adjust the flight models for game balance", but it's such an iconic plane that even people who only play modern would be tempted in.

The MiG-29 that we could get can't carry R-77, either. Honestly, I don't think we'll get it this year, purely because actually releasing a module is not a matter of a few days. If it's not in this month's patch, then the soonest we could possibly get it is in the next month's patch.
