Hi All,

There's a couple of things that were shown in both the 2021 & 2022 "and beyond" video's I was hoping we might be able to get a bit of an update on as to whether we could expect these to be implemented in the first half of 2023, or whether they've hit a bit of a snag with the technology and they're likely to be further away. (Or more embarrassingly, if any have been implemented and I've missed them). 😁

I'm kinda hoping if they're not implemented yet - since all are from 'in-game footage' when recorded, they're not far away?

(I appreciate definitive information probably isn't possible, but just a hint as to whether they're close or still some distance off would be great).

From the "2021 and beyond video" - the ability to have aircraft parked below deck.

From the 2022 & Beyond unit - a new ground AA vehicle

Looking forward to seeing what 2023 & Beyond has in it too.

Thanks ED. 🙂

Are we able to park our planes under deck today?  Thanks.

I think the hangar works, however it's not really realistic for aircrew to be fooling around in it. IRL, aircraft start from deck, and are moved to and from the hangar by the crew.

I recall seeing a video where someone was able to park under the deck by hitchhiking a ride on the elevator along with an AI plane. The key is that the AI will start parking below deck once the deck parking is full. So if you happen to be there when the AI starts using the elevator and time things just right you can ride the elevator down along with an AI plane, and then taxi around the hangar deck. But there isn't much there at present so apart from the elevator ride it isn't very interesting or fun.

  1. The hability to park aircrafts on the carrier hangar, has only by the AI. Never was planned by the player. On fact, the carrier hangar EDM files, has pressent on the Supercarrier directories. That has similar to the CAG command post and the Briefing Room, no released yet.
  2. That unit has a Centurion C-RAM, a antiair unit design to destroy mortars and rockets on afganistan, no a CIWS land based AAA. No released yet.
  3. CB clouds and others has been planned by ED some time ago. Surely coming on a next update.

Other no released has the Normandy 2.0 new Ugra Media map, with Paris and London as a expansion over the size of the old Normandy map and builded with a new technology. And surely, other features show on the "202X and beyond videos", none released.

I thought the hangars were mainly to provide a secure area for maintenance? With a full load of aircraft everything that works tends to be parked on deck? No?

It does. I'm only asking for an update as to whether these things are close to being released, or whether they're still some time off. (as I notice it also says that all footage is in-game footage, so it appears as though these things must have at least being available in dev mode when the recordings were made).

Wonderful. I misunderstood the hanger deck so appreciate, so thanks for the clarification and update Silver_Dragon! 👍

Hmm... I though that if they were going to implement this, they'd do it for WW2 plus use the same functionality for the C130 that's in development at the moment as well.

Looking forward to seeing these features. (LOL - don't even need a 2023 & beyond video yet - lots to still look forward to). 🙂

A proper pushback feature is more important and necessary for parking above or below decks.

What do you mean? This highy realistic documentary released in 1991 showed the exact same pushback procedure we currently have in DCS. 😉

Well, but not these well drawn markings on the deck.

Still a shame that dude parked wrong in this highly realistic documentary…🤣

No FF MiG-29A showcase. 😭

We don't make clickable F-15C, we don't make clickable machines only "air to air" like MiG-29, Su-27 because it's boring ... But we do Chinnok, which in a very exciting way will be able to transport from point A to point B cargos, soldiers ... Hell, even the UH-1 gives you more options 😉 Who needs it?

The F-6F Hellcat is not bad in the last seconds. Nick Grey's has talked, in an interview, about doing a module of the F-6F Hellcat and aircraft carrier functionality for WW2 Pacific for DCS World, and later, doing modules from the Battle of Britain 1940. And the CH-47 Chinnok, all by ED.

Lots of C-130, OH-58, F4-U1, F-4E, La-7, F-15E. I'm not sure if the A-4E will be added as an AI, but it's strange that it appears in an official video. And of course, the B-52, B-1B and S-3B IA. We will have to see if there is something more "hidden" in the video. i think the Mig-29A has a "missing module" to the future.

Chinook is all right, I suppose. I'm not big on it, though. It'll be interesting to fly, but it's still a transport helos with the only armament being the door and ramp mounted miniguns or MGs of various kinds. It's also a modern version, not the Vietnam-era Chinook, which, by the way, had an armed ACH-47A version (it wasn't used very much, but would've been cool to fly). It'll have its uses, but I'm going to wait until it's 50% off on a sale, just like with the Herc.
