Clyber Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 (edited) Vr Guy just launched a new clip. Is Native DCS OPENXR now working properly ? I had it installed for my Varjo Aero but the mouse function had errors in the cockpit. I couldnt click on the switches the clickable positions were displaced three weeks ago and ED said they are working on it. Is this problem fixed now for Varjo users or maybe because the VR Guy usses a HP G2 Reverb he didnt experienced this issue ? Edited February 10, 2023 by Clyber

Ramtin Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 (edited) How does this work when you use the updater utility by skatezilla? I can't edit the target in the actual exe in the bin folder. This option only seems available in the shortcut properties. And the updater uses the actual exe from the bin folder so that doesnt work. Edited February 10, 2023 by Ramtin

It seems like it was asked a couple times but not directly answered. I currently use opencomp for DCS and for nullIL2. I would want to keep the IL2 implementation of course. What do I need to do just specifically for DCS? rss0900 Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 I'm not sure I have it setup properly but DCS now opens without starting SteamVR but I went from about 39FPS in the apache down to 22FPS with OpenXR . DCS and SteamVR run better for me so I'm not sure where my drop in performance is coming from as it seems others are reporting good increases. I'm on an rtx 3080 with a reverb G2.

Sounds like you have reprojection enabled. In steamvr it will have been disengaged because you're below half refresh rate. In openxr it will reproject to lower fractions of refresh rate. For more reading have a look through the first page of my running guide on this forum. Is the view smooth and the framerate stable at 22fps? Keeping an eye on GPU frametime is a better indication of performance than the FPS counter. 1 Ryzen7 7800X3D / RTX3080ti / 64GB DDR5 4800 / Varjo Aero / Leap Motion / Kinect Headtracking TM 28" Warthog Deltasim Hotas / DIY Pendular Rudders / DIY Cyclic Maglock Trimmer / DIY Abris / TM TX 599 evo wheel / TM T3PA pro / DIY 7+1+Sequential Shifter / DIY Handbrake / Cobra Clubman Seat Shoehorned into a 43" x 43" cupboard.

desmoflex Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Hi guys, I am still a bit puzzled. Do you know by chance if this version DCS World RELEASE 2.8.1.34667.2 12/27/2022 Already has OpenXR support? It is the latest RELEASE version as far as I know. Using that version always starts SteamVR. Using the BETA, which came out a bit later, starts OpenXR perfectly fine. cheers

Again thx! Well, not yet, but it will in a not too far future... Once the devs are happy with the Beta version , they'll transfer all its new features to the release version and when that happens, Beta and relase are both identical (same version number)... desmoflex Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Np. All good! I am a bit a on/off DCS user and it always takes me some time to get into the details again. And then I am extremely happy to get a quick answer or hint which helps me. I should have checked and compared the release vs beta changelog….. have a great weekend! 1

desmoflex Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 Hi, i am struggling with my framerates in OpenXR (3080TI and CPU clock 4.8) and HP G2. Where can I adjust my render/screen resolution? is it via OpenXR toolkit only? Thx much!!
Chief_Biv Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 That’s where I do it. everywhere else is set to 100% or pixel density 1.0. I have an RTX3080 and a Reverb G2. I use FSR at 90% and foveated rendering in the toolkit. I also set MR on but unfixed so fps varies between 45 , 30 and 22. It’s smooth enough for me. I had to turn off any anti-shaking to minimise ghosting with MR. desmoflex Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 (edited) Thx! will give it a try. @Chief_Biv foveated rendering works in DCS?
