It is no doubt that the C-130J module will immensely add a whole new slew of capabilities in the transport category and more. So what other future modules with similar capabilities do you think we can see in DCS world?

Maybe we can go large?

Or smaller?

The C-295 and its many variants like the C-130J

Just a couple of examples I can think of! But what else would you guys like to see?

A C-5B would knock my socks off. Those TF39s are a sound to behold.

Only trouble is, with the current map-sizes, you'll barely reach cruising altitude before you're running out of map-space.

If a prop transport is a must, make it a Transall NG and/ or an An-26.

The C-23 Sherpa would be a great fit for DCS, given its short range, in-theatre role of rapid distribution of parts and personnel.

The Spherical map should solve that issue 😉

Maybe an An-148 or it's Cargo version 178 might be something cool to look into

The C-23A was a straight Cargo only version which could not open its cargo door in flight. The US Army C-23B and C were more capable all around tactically with the ability to deploy paratroops and cargo while airborne and the C model had MWS equipment fitted for operations in Iraq and Afghanistan as well. The A does look good in Euro I though.

Truly superior pilots are those that use their superior judgment to avoid those situations where they might have to use their superior skills.

If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

Part of the appeal of cargo aircraft - for me anyway - is flying them into some dirt airstrip. We'd also need those. 😎

That's a good looking aircraft for sure.

The reason I came up with the An-26 is mostly because it has seen tons of action and it would be a cold war soviet aircraft of which we undoubtedly need to see more.

I am with you on that one. The C-2 would be the most entertaining cargo aircraft to operate because of its carrier capabilities. And since it uses the same engines and wings as the E-2 Hawkeye a third of the work would already be done for when they can do the Hawkeye.

I want to see fully modeled Douglas transports like the C-47,C-74,C-124 and C-133 Cargomaster as well as C-17 along with the Lockheed transports mentioned in previous posts.I'm sure there's quite a few European military transports i like to see attempted like a Blackburn Beverly or a Nordatlas as well as others.I'm sure that would include aerial tankers too like the KC-10 Extender since they have secondary cargo roles.I also would like an Douglas C-9 Aeromedical craft or a smaller aircraft like an C-12 Huron.

I think the C-130 will be a good way to test the waters for such aircraft,

As am I, I'm really looking forward to the Herc. Let's hope that ED grabs this chance and improves/adds more comprehensive logistic support (store/warehouse management for airfields , naval assets and FARPS) and other fundamental features, including general air-drop abilities for planes (you know, not just parachutists, also cargo/supplies, sonobuoys, torpedoes, etc.). Otherwise, purely logistic aircraft would remain relegated to the sidelines.

Yes I agree 100%, and then there are other variants too like the An-30 that can be considered too

My vote is for the C-141 Starlifter which earned the nickname 'Hanoi Taxi' for sending troops to Vietnam and bringing them back once their service was done.

It had a much longer service life compared to the likes of the C-17 and C-5, I am pretty sure they were run way past their life expectancy, basically until they were about to fall apart before we developed new planes in-category. The A model was used during Vietnam and the longer B model was used after. Pretty much paved the way historically for the US modern transports and is rather unsung.

A C-141C SOLL II bird would fit in nicely ... let the green lizard legacy live forever in DCS World!

Necessary for any dynamic cold war era campaigns, at least as AI.  Both strategic and tactical roles in one bird, not many other airlifters can stake that claim.  Have just over 1200 hours in the back of that bird, most challenging thing I ever did in life, far more work than a herk, did that one too.

Osprey, the mission variety is incredible, nearly unlimited possibilities when it comes to the flexibility in using this bird in a campaign scenario, with combat, spec ops, rescue, and logistics support roles all rolled into one.
