We need more Soviet/RF aircraft, especially helicopters.

I'd like an Su-15 and an Su-7B. I'd also like a Ka-26, and variants thereof. A Ka-52. An Su-24 would be good. And a full on Su-25 variant would be nice.

On the Mikoyan side, a MiG-25 would be very welcome. And a MiG-31.

Then there's the Tu-22M3. And so on.

Finally, more Russian and Russian-related maps.

On the other side of the aisle, a Cobra would be great.

That is all. Carry on. 😄

Russian aircrafts won't be possible due to their law, but Soviet ones are being developed like Su-17M, MiG-23MLA, possibly MiG-17 and many are already in DCS like Mi-24P, Mi-8, MiG-21bis, MiG-19P, MiG-15bis. L-39 was used as combat trainer in Warsaw Pact countries and Soviet Union in huge numbers. ED was trying to make early 1980s MiG-29 9.12 but it became impossible.

PVO Strany interceptors were more classified than others, some MOD group tried to obtain data necessary to make 1970s MiG-25PD, but they've concluded it's impossible right now even after all this years.

When it comes to Soviet aviation MiG-25P/PD/RB, Su-25A, Ka-26 are on my wishlist as well. Maybe some day.

There is Caucassus map and Kola Peninsula is being developed.

Yeah! A Fitter is good! I have almost every module for DCS, all the helicopters, all the MiGs, as well as all the US tin. I still need the Mirage F1 and the I-16, among a few others, but I'll get there.

The aircraft that @bies lists would all be welcome additions. These days, I mostly fly the Mi-24P. I fly with a Pro-flight Trainer Puma set of helicopter controls, and I've been really racking up the hours in the Hind.

A Kola Peninsula map is good. I wonder how far south it will extend? I need to pick up South Atlantic, but aside from that I've got all the maps.

I like doing carrier ops in the F/A-18C as well. But the, "Warsaw Pact" stuff really appeals to me. I'd especially love to get my hands on an Su-15, which is, to me anyway, a very beautiful aircraft. And the Ka-26? Oh yeah, I'd surely like to fly the bread box!

You can find more info about the Kola map in this video. I highly recommend following this channel to keep up to date with DCS news.

Great video! Thanks for the link to that channel, @Evoman!

Even a 2022 quality FC3 type Red For pack would be awesome. Update the older Red modules and add new ones with modern models etc. I would rather have slightly less interactive Red For planes than none at all. That's one way around the issue as I see it.

With the Caucuses map, Syria map and the upcoming Kola Peninsula map I'd like to see the Tu-22B/KD/KPD Blinder A/B, MiG-25PD Foxbat E, Su-17M-4 Fitter K and MiG-27K Flogger J2. I highly doubt we will see anything much newer from the Russian side for the foreseeable future. The Blinder would be of particular fun for lob tossing the FAB-9000... it's the next best thing to a nuke.

Truly superior pilots are those that use their superior judgment to avoid those situations where they might have to use their superior skills.

FC3 is simplified - not straight up unrealistic, fictional or made up. FC3 is just low fidelity standard the best ED could do in year ~2003.

You can't take classified aircraft without data and make it in FC3 standard, becuase it will be pure fiction, working completely different than real counterpart, contrary to rest of FC3. What is more "modern" means glass cocckpit, it's impossible to make FC3 glass cockpit aircraft without making whole avionics ridiculous.

What you propose is amateur made MOD and we have some for DCS, Raptors, Rafales, Sukhois, everything.

I have the demo version of the desktop simulator for the Su-30mki. The demo excludes avonics but perhaps could be of use? I think it used a modified flanker engine

Also, ED said they aren't doing any more FC3 modules.

DCS World will not see any more FC3 modules no, but its possible we will see new or unique airframes at that level when MAC finally hits the ground.

All that said, yes, we would love more Russian aircraft, for a number of reasons its tough for us to do so, this is where we would love to see 3rd Parties pick up the "slack".

Thanks all.

Will FC3 still be in DCS or only in MAC?

No I didn't propose that at all. I proposed that it may be better to have FC3 grade REDFOR aircraft versus NONE. Plus, there are probably 4 people on these forums that would be able to say 'Nope that SU-22 doesn't fly like the real thing I was in'. Give the people something that works and is believable and based on available data and its better than nothing...my opinion.

AFAIK MAC will be separate, assuming it ever sees daylight again. That'll be the place for ''improvised'' modeling to appeal to the wider audience, with DCS being the ''by the book'' approach. Probably be a lot of shared assets and code between the two, though.

Once ED manage to catch that particular chimera, of course.

Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!

There are already MAC strings appearing here and there in the present code base from what I can deduce from binaries. I assume that MAC is supposed to compete with lower fidelity competitors with reuse of assets.

For me the question I asked remains unanswered, and likely we will have to eventually find out. If they can not answer now I totally understand this.

I am not very intelligent clever or whatever the usefull word is to describe  my knowledge. And I am not fluent in English... But, as I understand it, full fidelity SU27, 33, MiG29, SU-25 are complicated to do (and that's so sad 😢 ), so I guess they could leave them in FC3 in DCS, and use them in MAC too, that could be a way to switch from one game to the other for people starting the journey 🙂

We might be able to get cold war variants. Though if not, they are the argument for DCS/MAC on line compatibility.

It's basically an easier DCS as an alternative to more arcade games on the market.

Reassuring to hear - I've worried about that for three years 🙂

It'd be nice if there was a version of MAC that kept the same basic quality of flight modelling (and even some of the systems modelling) and used an up-to-date version of the DCS engine - but allowed 3rd parties to add aircraft that are still classified. I always thought it'd be great to have some 5th generation aircraft (or aircraft that never saw service) in this game engine - something like the Mig 1.44 or F-35 for instance... part of me would like to be able to use regular DCS modules against them as well (even if not in 'DCS' proper).
