Well done CH. Like I've often said, the DCS Community owes you so much for bringing life into DCS World. I ask the DCS Community to continue to support you and your hard work. So I would like to ask the DCS Community to send you a few bucks. I have attached the link to donate below. Thank you everyone!

Haha, very cool screenshots, I never had Kola map and Currenthill's mods installed at the same time because they both weigh a lot.

@currenthill just out of curiosity 🙂 ... the Abrams picture on USA assets depicts an X variant ... while in game is the SEPv3.

Being obvious that the Abrams X model is something already on your plate... will that be released some day ? 🙂

Both the SEPv3 and X is already released and should work.

@currenthill Currenthill, I thought it would be easier to make a quick video to thoroughly walk you through my request/suggestion for new units. The team and I have been working very hard to create a Vietnam experience for the DCS community over the past 6 months.  This passion of ours has been fueled even more so now that we got word a Vietnam map is still not in the works and won't be for a while until the technology is there for ED, per Wags most recent video.  We are currently using Tobi/Eightballs Vietnam asset pack and Cayuse.  The biggest problem is the lack of ground AI units, specifically period specific US infantry, NVA, and MACV SOG if possible.  We will be adding ViolenNomads Cobra as soon as it makes the scene.

I would like to know if you would be interested in making some Vietnam era assets for the community for our Into the Jungle experience?  We are looking to expand it further and hopefully add some new objectives to the mission.  The first video is me discussing what we are looking for and seeing if you might be interested.  I am flying around during the video just to show you a fraction of what we have accomplished so far.  The 3 videos below are actual videos of us getting after it online in period specific aircraft.  This vision of ours is meant to be played online with friends but is also single player friendly as well.  I am sure my counter parts will add to this post in favor.  The 3 of us would be more than willing to drop donations your way and pay for any 3D model you may find online, or we locate for you to bring to DCS.  We are not seeking a time frame of completion, just a shared interest and appreciation for the time period and someone who has the passion to bring this to DCS.  Would gladly promote you and all your hard work.  I have started by adding this thread to my video as well as your homepage.  Out ITJ mission is starting to catch a larger volume of players, and I know it would exponentially grow with your work being added to it.

Currently we have a significant amount of scripting involved that dynamically generates CSAR missions and ground-oriented scouting/combat missions.  Every play through is different.  We have created numerous FARPS and redesigned Andersen to appear like an airfield out of Vietnam.

I have attached a link below to sketchfab's site where they have a Vietnam era 3D pilot that would be perfect for our CSAR operations instead of the default US infantry guy we have now.  The name of the 3D model is US Jet Pilot Outfit.  How hard would it be to implement something like this pilot as an animated AI unit?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Hope you enjoy the videos.  The first one should really help you understand our vision for this.

Hello Everyone,

I need help getting the assets to work. I have tried watching videos and following all instructions but it does not work for me. Only some of the assets show up on the mission editor, and even those ones have issues with even being shown, or looking nothing like what they are supposed to. I have modded other games before, but this is my first with DCS, so any help would be appreciated guys.

Can be found on CH's FAQ page:

How do I install your assets?
  • My assets are available as asset packs per country (not as single assets).
  • Download the asset pack, there are two download types:
    • Complete: Contains everything you need in full size (for example CH Military Asset Pack China 1.1.4)
    • Incremental: Contains an incremental update if you already have an older Complete pack which needs updating (for example CH Military Asset Pack China 1.1.x-1.1.4)
  • Installation of Complete:
    • Extract zip to your DCS Saved Games mods folder (for example C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\mods\tech)
  • Installation of Incremental:
    • Extract zip to your DCS Saved Games mods folder containing the old Complete pack that you want to update (for example C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\mods\tech\CH Military Asset Pack China 1.1.0

why do DCS crash or units won't spawn when using your assets?
      • You most certainly have a conflict between old and new assets of the same type.
      • Make sure to delete all earlier versions of my assets.
      • I re-packaged all my assets into country packs the 22th of December 2023 - make sure all earlier single assets are removed before installing the country packs and running DCS.
      • Most of my earlier assets have folders with a CH-prefix - but there are some exceptions so be thorough when removing old assets.
      • I always test all my assets simultaneous to make sure they work fine together.

CH, your Ukraine Asset Pack has really helped breathe life into my Russo-Ukraine War Retribution campaign. Could I suggest adding an upgraded Su-25 to the pack? It would be a great complement to your Su-27, Su-24, and MiG-29 (which are all fantastic).

I think the most useful assets pack that Currenthill could make would be Tanker Assets Pack. It could contain aircraft like KC-46, KC-30, KC-15 and more...

More (working) tankers would be great, however I'd rather like to see some cold war tankers like the KC-10, KC-135 with "iron maiden"-hose, british Victor, Nimrod, VC-10 and so on.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Hello all,

I've been getting back into DCS after a long break.

Can anyone share one of their Mission miz files that covers how to set up various assets for missile launches and targeting.

I forgot how quirky the sim is with setting up the scripting.

My advice: there may be problems with the latest update DCS 2.9.13.6818. For example, there are many errors with the SU-30SM. It is alarming that there is some kind of problem with missiles again (the zones of permitted launches on the HUD have disappeared, the missiles do not leave the pylons even when the launch restrictions are forcibly removed). Just in case, make yourself a copy of the previous version before updating.

SU-30SM is quite well known for generating issues. Is still an early version and prone to this. I would not mix SU30SM with any other mods to be honest!

My job is to warn. I did not intend to enter into a discussion. If you disagree, that is your right. Perhaps my information will be useful to someone.
