What does it really mean for players?

It is the first time I read about something like this and everyone is wondering

for players there is no change, but the fix prevents a crash situation from happening.

thanks

So no real fixes in the underlying MT core assignments or timings which would address smoothness and performance.  Or do these things go undocumented and we could be in for a pleasant surprise ?

Being able to manually edit the .miz files to make certain modules optional to join a server is important to our group. Will this still check against only the requiredModules section in the miz file, or will editing that no-longer prevent users being blocked from joining?

Crikey.

ED get grief when they provide aircraft fixes ahead of core engine fixes.

ED also get grief when they provide core engine fixes ahead of aircraft fixes.

Lose-lose it seems.

Of course some of you could actually be grateful you get ANY fixes at all....

@BIGNEWYcan you or one of your coworkers give us a status update about DCS? No need for exact dates or anything, just a write-up of the progress made on several of ED’s product? Think Supercarrier, Vulkan, DCE, night lighting, comms, more personnel (like the SC but on AFB’s), etc.

It’s been a while since ED/you guys gave an interview, if I’m not mistaken. 🙂

Thanks.

bullet impact fix was a big one that we wanted to get in as soon as possible

Does that only relate to bullet bullets or also shells from artillery and tanks?

i7 13700k @5.2ghz, GTX 5090 OC, 128Gig ram 4800mhz DDR5, M2 drive.

Hi,

all of our public announced projects are still in progress, keep an eye on our newsletters we will share news when we are ready to, but we will not give timeline estimates.
Please keep this thread for patch note discussion.

thanks

It was a fix for an FPS issue created by many impacts.

If you are seeing an issue regarding artillery and tanks please make a new report with a track replay so we can check it.

Yeah, the fixes are always welcome. And it looks another mini-patch is coming... 🙂 Sometimes it takes a few tries to get right, doesn't it? 🙂

Also, @Silver_Dragon, could you stop posting "DCS news" YouTube videos to the news&roadmap thread? I was excited for a new update about the A-7, only to find that not only the guy just patters on about things that were announced already in a readable form, the thing is from January. Let's keep the roadmap thread for new stuff, YouTube talking heads regurgitating old bits of info can go elsewhere.

take note...

Thanks. People who really need the newsletters read to them can just subscribe to the channel of their choice. These channels almost never have info that's actually new, Grim Reapers sometimes do interviews, but that's it.

@BIGNEWY Hi, are we still expected to use MT with stable version as per the instruction of FAQ? Thought MT is default to be launched as part of new DCS without adding any special shortcut link.

yes follow the FAQ and create a shortcut.

MT is an optional preview currently while we continue to gather data and tweak.

Thanks for clarification. Though a bit surprised the Stable version is mainly for ST while MT kept as Beta. Anyway, it's a big step forward from last Dec.

I have edited the MT FAQ to remove the beta reference now it is in both, for now it will remain an optional preview version.

hope you enjoy and have a great weekend

This latest version has cut my (PiMax VR 8KX) FPS 10% FPS down. From 39-40 to 24-26 FPS on the GPU bound its now in the 70FPS from 189 FPS.

fps low low low.jpg

repaired and rebooted didn't help.

you can test this on the Channel map instant P51D25 mission Ferry scramble.
