MADLOU1 Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 I will be getting new glasses soon. Currently I use contacts when using my HP Reverb G2, Ver. 2 because I get a wider FOV. I am considering getting VR prescription lenses since I only use the contacts for VR. Any recommendations for the best places to get VR prescription lenses? Thanks!

Tinkickef Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 (edited) I used VR Lens Lab. Great lenses but I was expecting some kind of snap in fit, but no they are just a very loose push on fit. They seem like they will fall out, but they never do. From order to delivery around two weeks for me. Mk1_Trebuchet Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 I like my Reloptix lenses. I initially got one of the press-on designs (VR-Rock) but they were horrible. The press-ons fell out at least once per session, and trying to clean them was a PITA as well. The Reloptix lenses are more expensive but well worth it IMHO. The lenses are flat and are held in place by a magnet on a mount that snaps over the VR lenses. I've never unintentionally dislodged a lens, and cleaning them is super easy. Also only takes a second to pull them out if someone else uses the headset. 1 Asrock X870E Nova - AMD 9800x3d - RTX 4090 - 64GB DDR5 - (2x) Crucial T705 - Varjo Aero

diego999 Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 Been using VR Wave for almost a year. No complaints.
Antix70 Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 I used VR Optician for my wife's oculus, and she loves them. However, when I used them for my G2, I basically use readers to see my monitor and read with, and I was in some strange zone where they just didn't work. After taking photos through the lenses with some graph paper to show them whatever they were looking for, they determined they would take them back. But would only refund 50% of my purchase price, and shipping back to Germany would be more than half the cost of the lenses, so I just tossed the $85 into the trash can.
javelina1 Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 I've used vr-optician. I literally ordered and had the inserts within 7 days. That's coming from Germany to the desert Southwest of the USA. So they make lenses that are supposed to be usable with any VR headset? In just a quick glance at their website, I was under the impression that you had to order your lenses for a specific VR headset which may not work on another. Thanks to all for the recommendations. So far looks like VR Optician is the way to go.

So far looks like VR Optician is the way to go. They make models specific to whichever headset you have. What I meant by "used them" I mean I also used VR Optician when I purchased a set for my G2. I did not attempt to use the quest lenses on my G2, not to mention my wife and I have different eye problems.
Nodak Posted May 23, 2023 Posted May 23, 2023 Reloptics, they can do a formula for readers integration in your prescription if your dependent on them for normal ability to read. Works slick for reading instruments and everything close up in the cockpit. I'd second avoiding VR rock, utter crap, threw them away immediately in disgust, they were not my prescription, not even close.
lobo Posted May 23, 2023 Posted May 23, 2023 VR Optician. I'd buy from them again. Reverb G2. Lobo's DCS A-10C Normal Checklist & Quick Reference Handbook current version 8D available here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/172905/
Fakum Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 Question about prescription: I have a prescription for distance/driving, I also have a different prescription for computer monitor use as my distance/driving prescription is too strong for that application. I dont use glasses for reading as I dont need them. Which of these 3 sceneries would I be applying for use of the HP Reverb G2 V2 ?
