The key for a successful takeoff is to put the cyclic in the correct position before you apply collective. When you bring up the controls overlay, the cyclic should be a cm or so down and to the left.

Very happy for the effort you have put in on this, I watched CasmoTV's update video and can not wait to try it in VR. I also hope you guys in putting this out shortly will also be close to a release of the Kiowa as well!! I always will support small third party developers and wish you guys the very best - Code On!!!

I'm eager to give this a try.  I always liked the Gazelle, despite it's quirks.  This should bring it up to the expected standards though, and bodes well for the future Kiowa.

You can always save individual snapviews and bind them to any button or key.

You don't need to move, it'll be right in front of you. You can bind a key to stow/deploy the periscope, that's all you'll need to shift view.

Trying out the open beta:

- There is a pretty strong "pendulum" effect still - is this accurate to the actual aircraft? Has anyone here actually flown a Gazelle? Something about it feels a bit unnatural to me.

- Is the tail-rotor really that sensitive?

Yeah and some one forgot a strap buckle or something haging in mid air infront of the cyclic.

 

Also the vivian freezes during panning and you have to reset the axis to zero. Talking about resetting axies to zero, the center position trimmer acts like the instant trim in 50% of the cases

I really like the ability to clean up the cockpit (removing sights, removing the tablet)... helps create a civilianised feel - even if a lot of the avionics are there for weapon controls, I can feel like I'm flying liaison in peacetime at least. Nice to have that more peaceful experience along with a clearer view of the ground/forward.

Really not getting on with the new Gazelle FM, it oscillates wildly trying to self-correct when turning/banking, Im finding it almost impossible to take off with reduced weight, it feels like one of the poor msfs helicopters 😞

The new FM is finally worth it moniker 🙂 - I'm really enjoying while exploring Tel Aviv's waterfront. 

I'm being tuned off by the nav pad. That by itself is terrific. The reflections on it in VR are atrocious, though, and need to be turned down. This is because the reflecting sky is using a small skybox, and since the eyes have different locations, the reflection has artificial 'depth' that causes headache, and makes reading the pad almost impossible.
