I tried them all, the best are Slaw Device and second place MFG 😉

How can you determine a first choice if you only tried one of them?
I have MFG's (coming from a CH set). They are great. But no clue how they compare to the others.

We must be objective and realistic. Logitech, turtle, ch etc. are plastic and the internal mechanism is not so perfect.
VKB, has a nice mechanism, but are not real pedals (movement up and down) great for helicopters, but not adaptable to other aircraft (they do not have the brake, but through software you can set the brake, a casino).
For pedals you have to see many factors.

First, the internal mechanism, the robustness of the pedals, the customization and adaptability to the various modules. Only two seem suitable for all this Slaw and MFG.
Too bad SLAW has interrupted production and he has also recently developed pedals with movement up and down. It would have been perfect if he made the AH64 model. The last model he developed is based on the apache, but then for various reasons he decided to make various changes to the pedals.

VPC also has beautiful pedals, robust and excellent internal mechanism. Above average, but below SLAW and MFG

I like the MFG's the best from an all around standpoint.  I have the MFG for almost a decade now and still no mechanical or electrical issues.

Also, lots of replacement parts available on their site including the key circuit board and they don't stop production for awhile or abandon a model entirely for an entirely different design.

Research and personal requirements… I’ve never used any PC/gaming rudder pedals. So I need determine what the best are for me by reading others experiences and by assessing build quality. For example I don’t want plastic toys that won’t last. That eliminates quite a few. Having the ability to repair them is high on the list of requirements as well… Up until know I’ve been considering the VPC pedals. Along with build quality they would integrate well with my other Virpil gear and software. With that said, the MFG crosswinds might be winning me over. The Slaw pedals do look to be the best built but that comes at a cost. I do believe in the buy once cry one once ideology with the caveat that I consider diminishing returns. Are they worth 2 times the cost of my other options? If so, what am I getting for that cost beyond bragging rights?

The Slaws project evolves, and it's basically two different models/projects.
That said, I don't think they are "beyond" the MFGs in functionality, or even better, they just looks the best.
If you can't wait, definitely get the MFGs, that's what I should have done now. I'll get the MFDs sometime in the future for comparison obviously, and I'm positive they are just as good. And I'm really eager to get the high end TMs too, I just don't like the plastic parts, and the lack of native parts/solution to mount a damper.
I have had the cheapo TM rudders, they are NOT bad in any way. Except:
Too narrow
You must place your feet "in" them
No damper support
Plastic

One major pluss is though. On the bottom there's a lid you can remove, which make you able to remove the spring, which practice make you able to re-add it in seconds. Add some Nyogel 767 for a dampening effect, and get the 3D prints to expand them. Then they will be the best bang for the buck. I promise!

Cheers!

Had the MFG Crosswinds, felt they were totally over-rated.

You like the TPRs better than the MFGs?
Interesting! What about the build quality?

I’ve been using CH pedals for 13 years and they still work fine. I was only able to compare them to Logitech which felt spongy but probably worked ok. My only assessment are things which could either be advantages or not depending on your taste. First they’re small and light meaning they will fit in a normal desk knee space plus you can move them easily if you need to. A rubber shelf liner pad will hold them in place so the weight isn’t a problem. I occasionally move them for racing so this is a plus. Some people probably wouldn’t like how narrow they are but that could be a plus depending on your setup.
I honestly don’t see the point in expensive rudder pedals even though I enjoy throwing money at this hobby, I haven’t found a reason to replace the CH ones.

I went from Saitek Combat Rudders to Virpil's Ace (Considered MFG, but every time I checked they were out of stock, ...so were the VPC, but scored a big discount on those)

Man, I should have done that a lot sooner (especially since one of the toe brakes stopped functioning on the Saitek just out of warranty 😮‍💨

but luckily, i wasn't flying planes with toebrakes)

The difference is night and day
