Art-J Posted Saturday at 07:02 PM Posted Saturday at 07:02 PM Rgr that! Seems to be the best approach until some sort of a deal with ED can hopefully be established. 2 i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

Even just having the cloud presets included with and read from the mission file would go a long way. At least everyone on the server will be at least seeing the same thing without having to have any modified files installed. 2

Let me know what you think! Looks fantastic. Will users be able to fine-tune cloud ceilings with Atmos-X, say, to put a ceiling right above the minimum for an IFR approach? DCS currently doesn't allow for that, at or below 500m/1640ft clouds are at SL in-game, and above that you can only increase the ceiling in 400m steps (even if the ME makes you believe you can set any altitude... it will not show in-game...) 1 1./JG71 "Richthofen" - Seven Eleven

Sch1lly Posted yesterday at 03:47 PM Posted yesterday at 03:47 PM I think it was sorta answered but to just be 100% clear - even though the mod breaks IC in MP - if all parties (and server) have the mod installed - will it work properly in MP? Second question - does this effect regionalized wind at all or is it still using the same weather system in ED where the wind is not regionalized at all (unless you use the dynamic systems which also disables the nice clouds)

My goal with ATMOS-X is to make the "mod" more accessible to the community by making it easier to use. It also gives me a method to expand features that I can't do without modifying the core. One missing piece of the puzzle is to make it multiplayer compatible so it doesn't break IC. I plan to reach out to Eagle Dynamics to see if they are interested in pursuing this further with me. I'll try to answer some questions... Yes, most scenes in the video were "timelapse". Don't get me started on the wind simulation in this sim! Unfortunately it's not something I can do much about currently. Yes, the aurora effects are fully customizable. When the aurora effect is turned on, cirrus clouds are disabled, but doesn't matter much since its a night time effect. It does have a slight performance cost, but not too bad. You will need the ATMOS-X app to install and configure the settings, but you don't have to use it as a launcher. You can just open, change your desired weather settings, then launch DCS however you prefer. It has the option to disable the DCS Launcher so you can launch straight from ATMOS-X if you prefer. When you say MP compatible for IC, for groups that aren't fussed about IC (ie squadrons with private servers) does this mod work synced across different players in a given mission, or must each player manually add the settings?

Each player has to install it since it changes how the local image generator defines weather, and changes shaders for the GPU. 1
vladimusmaximus Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago The mod is causing my screen to flash 2 screens constantly, like the video is overlayed and flashing. Disabling the mod fixes it. Haven't see that issue before. My guess is install issue. How did you install it? Make sure you don't have any conflicting mods installed in the DCS install folder, do a repair and clean with the DCS launcher, then reinstall the mod. 1 PC Hardware: Asus Maximus XIII Hero / i9-10900K / 64 GB DDR4 3600 MHz / NVIDIA RTX 3090 FE / Samsung 960 NVMe / LG OLED48CX / Reverb G2 Flight Controls: Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog / VKB T-RUDDER MKIV / Cougar MFD Set DCS Modules: F-14 Tomcat / F/A-18C Hornet / AV-8B NA / F-5E Tiger II / A-10C Warthog / F-16C Viper / UH-1 Huey / LOFC3 / Spitfire LF Mk. I didn't use OvGME to make the mod archive, so the zip file doesn't work with mod managers. You have to unzip the "bandit648 Weather Mod v2.0" folder into your mod folder for it to work. Don't just place the .zip file there. To manually verify the install, check file dates for these two files. They should 9/4/2025 when the mod is installed. Same developer. @sedenionAll the features of OvGME +more. One can unzip your mod into the mod repository of OMM and apply the mod from there. Just like in OvGME. And if one need it as a package, it takes seconds to make it one from the unzipped files. 5 hours ago, bandit648 said: Also try clearing your shader cache. So, the wind will be whatever ICAO code you input - and set it map wide.

It's really unforunate that weather hasnt been a priority for the base game devs - or seemingly not anyways. I get the difficulty of syncing dynamic weather between clients but tons of other games do it so its def. possible. 1
