Don’t know how you’ve managed it but I know it’s not just a case of adding floats. Mighty clever.

We’ll have to pack flippers and a snorkel for our amphibious trips .

Flightmodel improvements:

• Improved stability due to tuned enginedynamics
• Tuned skid friction, dynamic roll over is a thing now
• Landings on water are possible if floaters are equipped. Waves cannot be taken into account til now.

New features:

• Pedal Trim Option
• Trim Fade in with optional fade speed, see special options
• Camera man (tracks enemies)
• Trim release when button is released (until then ffb is force less)
• ADF (only in ME predefined beacons work)
• Floaters and landing on water
• Rotorbrake (fictional), no default key set, you need to assign a key
• Added generic civilian liveries from playgroundrelease

Bugfixes:

• Gunner export is no longer active if player is not in oh-6
• IAS should not indicate sideways speed
• Collective Button not working
• FFB <-> trim issues fixed
• Rocket mounts display mp sync
• Weird flapping in mp
• No rain on roof
• Raindrops in compass
• Renamed 2nd trim option
• Missing parts of rotor added
• Collective Button not working

I’ve installed it in the same place as the other versions. Haven’t seen the floats anywhere yet, where should I be looking?

I was in a rush to install it and didn't do it properly. All good now thanks.

Luckily for everyone I can't take screenshots. If I could I'd prolly be plastering this thread with a load of em now as I've just had a load of sport with this. Just dusky enough to enjoy the lights reflecting I landed on the water with a little bob and a bounce and chuckled my silly little ass off. "They've done it" I splurted out and they have.

We are now officially amphibious chaps. Get yourselves wetsuits and some diving goggles, we about to go deep undercover splish-splash.

FM's still full of it's charm, I forgot how rapid it is. I smiled all the way to the coast and landed on the water no trouble. I love it . All I want is a fishing rod, a net, some bait and I'll be gone for the weekend in this.

I've got a Chinook I'm supposed to be cold starting but who needs dual rotors when you can have dual-floaters?

Cracking job again, this thing's too much fun.

I think this mod is fairly easy to fly. I dunno if the FM is EFM high fidelity or not or to what extent. But it seems fairly OK with some practice. If you have Normandy here is a track from gunnery and flight practice. Flies great at tree tops. Stable in hover and stable in slow between tree flight. U have tp set trim correct befor T/O or helicopter may encounter dynamic roll.

I was out for 2 weeks on business travel and had to get my Cayuse fix in when I got back.  Every minute was worth the wait. Thanks again for this mods gents.  By far the best out there and the most I have played.  Really looking forward to its future and the new aircraft to come.  Just downloaded the new version.  Will be giving it a shot soon.

Does rearming and refuel work? I have the right ATC channel and can talk with ATC but Ground Crew does not respond.

No you still have to shut down. It is a modding limitation.

Thankfully the Cayuse is really fast to shut down, rearm, refuel, repair, then crank back up and get in the fight.  I have left this out of my videos, but this is what we have been doing in Coop Multiplayer.  To me, it adds another level of authenticity to the game.  I love being able to try making a 2- or 3-hour mission on one airframe.  Very rewarding because you know most your tactics are either right or at minimum, working.

I believe ED stated it would not be implemented because of the long post-aqua landing maintenance in real life. Or something along those lines.

I remember reading somewhere that the PBY-5, though designed for water ops, had to undergo a lengthy cleanup process due to salt water ops, to prevent the aluminium hull corroding. In a Chinook doing water landing, some water would end up on the inside of the fuselage, and come into contact with all sorts of components that might not favor longevity!

They did, kinda, They put a flood/dam defence board in the back near the ramp, (Like you see on doorways, where the poor sods get flooded often) Been flooded twice, it's not joke.

I would bet the aircraft has to have more air in the tanks than fuel, and then it can hover/taxi/swim as required. Don't think it's been used much except by the waterborne infantry who could emabark/debark in rubber boats, but the Chinook is not exactly quiet on approach.....better to hoof it overland and do without the big giveaway, (IMHO).

We used to say, you could get the kettle on, have a brew (Brits BTW, so that's Tea)and then set up the machine guns to repell that "surprise assault!"

mostly because you would have to relube everything...but also mentioned that not much of a big deal considering its DCS. Oh well.

When you hire a big game fishing heli charter, but realize you've bitten off more than you can chew! (...or is that the other way around?!)

Just as well you brought along your trusty M60 machine gun, for just such cases!

Was trying to figure out the ADF. I think this should be about right. 
- Could not hear anything though even with GAIN up - did I miss something? (rotor is loud) 
- ANT, LOOP and BFO do not seem to change anything - not simulated I guess?
