We post them just before the patch goes live which is planned for the 4th now. 

We can not post early as items may change.

@BIGNEWY I'm having a hard time finding out what the anticipated file size is likely to be. Can you give an estimate please, even if this is subject to change, are we talking circa 150GB or over 200GB? Could it be as much as 300GB with the detail and size, full map I mean, not just sectors.

Would like to purchase before update, but holding off as that file size is a major factor for me.

this will grow as the remaining regions are completed of course

will come later as the other regions are completed. For now Southwest only for airfields

Because I'm stupid - the Afghanistan map and the patch which is now coming on the 4th are tied together yeah (as in Afghanistan is part of the patch)?

 

Edit: Obviously you have to buy it, but in so far as using it.

It's a good thing I put a 4TB NvME drive in my computer because my DCS folder is 621G+ before adding in a 75G map. How much longer before I need to put a bigger drive in again? 🤣

Thanks for taking the time to get things right.  Especially considering how many mods or as I prefer add-ons are out there to help build out DCS World!

 

Oh, and yes, I pre-ordered all of the Afghanistan map, and I expect an Abbottabad add-on please.

Haha same here mate, i just installed a second drive to mine. I went for a wd black sn850x 4tb, im hopeing theres enough space for up coming additions lol

Whats the estimated time for the new patch/ Afganistan map?

I'll bet your team is pretty bummed out right about now.  Not much sucks worse than last minute problems with a release, particularly last minute problems that don't resolve easily.

Meanwhile, which map will I play on today (assuming I get time to play)?  Decisions, decisions...
