Anubis_94 Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 (edited) Hello, A bind to a sun visor from the helmet, or glasses, to help in such situation would be great Edited August 10, 2023 by Anubis_94 6 Squad channel
Tom Kazansky Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 +1, sure, but let me add one question (maybe people like @Sierra99 could answer): would an air refueling be done with those 2 planes flying towards the sun? 1

BuLLeT.ZA Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 Regardless of the refueling situation, there are many situations where glare is an issue. The visor in the F15E is a quality of life feature I really miss in other aircraft now. 6 Saitek X52 | 4770k@4.3GHz | MSI 1080GTX Armor OC | TrackIR 5

Don't remember. 1

Absolutely agree! I fly the hornet about 90% of the time and have wanted a working visor for years. The F15E was the first time I experienced that feature and 100% agree this should absolutely be a requirement for all modern aircraft moving forward (whatever might remain). Retrofitting this back to aircraft already released (or still in EA), is something I'd like to see ED execute. 1 System Specs: Spoiler Callsign:Kandy Processor:13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900K - RAM: 64GB - Video Card: NVIDIA RTX 4090 - Display: Pimax 8kx VR Headset - Accessories: VKB Gunfighter III MCG Ultimate, VKB STECS Standard, Thrustmaster TPR Pedals, Simshaker JetPad, Predator HOTAS Mounts, 3D Printed Flight Button Box Video Capture Software: Open Broadcaster Software (OBS), Video Editing Software: PowerDirector 365 Into The Jungle Apache Campaign - Griffins Kiowa Campaign - Assassins Thrustmaster TWCS Mod

PLUTON Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 I think exactly like Monsieurmann we need to equip DCS planes like Razbam does for the F15E and the 2000 c and that would be great. Thanks in advance 4
broderbund67 Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 (edited) I think the sun blinding effect is also too strong especially in VR. PLUTON Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 Hello to you ED team I find your new driver (F18) superb and the animations that go with it well done, especially when taking off from an aircraft carrier, plus the animation of the pilot lowering his visor and frankly super well done. What I would like and I think many people would like is when the visor lowers and we see the landscape darken like the visor of the F15E & the Mirage 2000, that would be great and I think that this shouldn't be necessary to achieve, right? Thank you for acceding to this request Gentlemen from ED 1
Tango3B Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Really nice work on that helmet visor animation, ED. It actually looks pretty damn cool I have to say. The sad thing is, though that it is only an animation and you do not have an actual effect from the visor like in the F-15E or all of the Mirages. Does ED plan to add such an effect for the Hornet, too? And maybe even for the Viper? I mean it is all about the coolness factor, right? 1
BarTzi Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 It does not have the tint effect but it dows show/ hide the HMD, so it does "work".

Rgeno79 Posted April 24, 2024 Posted April 24, 2024 Playing DCS on the flat screen was good, and then I got into VR with my Pimax Crystal and feels like I am in the middle of the cockpit. The one issue I have is the bright sun. Sometimes I have to put my HMD to the HUD because it can be blinding. I saw where there were previous requests so I just wanted to bring this back up. This would really complete my VR experience with my new Crystal.
falcon_120 Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 A sun visor for sunny days is a must. It is really hard to see any JHMCS/HUD symbology on a sunny day. Either we have a visor or a way to tweak the contrast/colour of the JHMCS/HUD a bit more.
Raven (Elysian Angel) Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 Personally I lower the gamma by 5 stops when I fly ED modules during the day. At night I have to raise it again. With RAZBAM modules there’s no need to do that. That being said, this is the wrong section of the forum to post this. kotor633 Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 Hi, Is it just me or does the visor on the FA-18C not work (yet)? Because when I activate the visor I don't notice any difference. ************************************** DCS World needs the Panavia Tornado! Really! **************************************
fortheiy12 Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 The visor toggle only effects the HMD visibility. Kinda like a on off button for the HMD.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Dos Posted April 25, 2024 Posted April 25, 2024 I believe it is only when you look at the pilot from outside (F2). The pilot will put the visor down and up and you see it, take a look. Now that you mention it is it suppose to make a difference to our HUD view like tint the view some?

For example, with the F-15E/ Mirage F1 the view is darkened somewhat and the sun no longer blinds you as much. Surely that should be the main function of the helmet visor? Or am I misunderstanding something? ************************************** DCS World needs the Panavia Tornado! Really! **************************************

Viper33 Posted April 26, 2024 Posted April 26, 2024 Wish every module had a visor like Razbam's jets. 3
tmansteve Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 Was flying into the sun chasing a fighter and remembered the visor. I activated it and found that it does nothing. I was still blinded by the sun. I checked outside and watched the visor animation. So is it bugged or does it not work? Any info wo9uld be great. If its not going to work, pointless having it. Cheers
