ED's next helicopter

I vote for the Cobra also..  And not a modern one.

We all know that the most common criticism heard regarding DCS World is the sometimes iffy correlation between maps, historical theaters, and period-appropriate flyable aircraft.   There are a lot of maps now, and a lot of airplanes, so its better than it used to be, but still some real gaps.  For example, strictly speaking of helicopters, I simply don't feel very Cold War-ish, flying around West Germany in a Longbow Apache, late Kiowa, or a glass cockpit Chinook.  The Soviets have the Hind-F and the Hip, appropriate for the map, so the --only-- next Helicopter I want to see is an 80s version of the Cobra, with the TOW missiles.  Start fleshing out the period maps with the period aircraft!!

I vote CH-53E Super Stallion (Not the K variant because it looks like a sports truck) or a modern Cobra Z or W or S

Luckily we have a cold-war version of the Bo-105 incoming

I wanted the NH-90. I think it's incredible! There was a third party that was making it for DCS, but it disappeared overnight.

PAH would be great, it would be appropriate, and I very much wish to see it in DCS.  But I've literally been reading about the very same project for over a decade, starting around the time I was just taking my first tentative baby steps into DCS.  Still no Bo-105.

Bo-105 PAH has on progress by Miltech-5 but that has not near ready to a launch. i think mid or late 2026.

German Bundeswehr likes to show it off; the maneuverability of this hunk is crazy. At the previous German Armed Forces day, I got a nice look into the cockpit and got to chat a bit with a pilot. Looks very well organized and surely would be a joy to fly in DCS. Norway terminates its contract for the NH90
"Regrettably we have reached the conclusion that no matter how many hours our technicians work, and how many parts we order, it will never make the NH90 capable of to meeting the requirements of the Norwegian Armed Forces", says the Minister of Defence.

Indeed, the Belgian armed forces spared no effort in showing their disdain for the NH90 to anyone willing to listen: it was a huge scandal in our national media. They said it was so hilariously bad not a single thing about the entire helicopter was to their satisfaction - not even the floor of the troop cabin / cargo hold.

Close friend (and former RNLAF colleague of mine) does maintenance on the Dutch NH90's, and I've heard him telling a few mind blowing tidbits. Like materials used, that not at all can withstand sea water (Pretty interesting for a helo used for naval ops...)

99.9% sure the next one is the AH-1W...which is also a great way to go.

Maybe CH-53 we'll see from the third party. It's possible, from what I know. For now, ED will take care of Blackhawk (my speculation, but there's been quite a bit of talk about it. Also from Wags a while back).

Aye...he also mentioned the Whiskey. We'll just have to wait and see. Either as the next helo would be fantastic, and I think it's safe to say both are coming at some point.

I'd also like to see something from the East as well. For example, the new version of the Hip, the Mi-8MTV-5.
