I wonder if certain parts of the autobahns will have the ability to be used, look for straight sections with relatively large “lay-bys” on Google earth. I remember one near Paderborn.

Really cool to have these civilian airstrips as well. Apparently the Pact air forces planned to disperse into various reserve airfields including grass strips.

Такого пиара карт ещё не было . Морально я уже готов её купить, но волнуют несколько моментов:  цена будет наверно тоже выше чем ранее представленные карты,  но это ладно с этим можно смириться ,а  вот требуемый под неё объём на винчестере и производительность (оптимизацию возможно не сразу но завезут, но и она ведь не чудотворна ) не уговоришь ...

Yeah I was stationed at Bitburg after DS in 1992-1993, I was in the Army though.

I can't wait to see the detail, like my barracks, etc.

There are a lot of us Cold Warriors out here waiting for the same thing.  Not sure how realistic the whole thing is going to be, but I am hoping that the old stomping grounds are going to be shown in some detail.  The buildings they have shown in some of the preview vids are at least VERY representative of the type we had, so it won't be too far off.

Not sure they could go all out, though.  I mean, in Ffm alone, there were a LOT of Kasernes, and then the outskirts like Eschborn, Hoetch etc.  We need the major places where the heliports were.....

I gotcha.

I don't have any unrealistic expectations.

I guess a better way of saying it is that I'm excited to see what I will recognize, even if its just the flight line.

Dont forget to implement Heeresflieger Regiment 6 Airbase "Hungriger Wolf" near Itzehoe in Schleswig Holstein . Homebase of PAH (BO-105), VBH (BO-105) and LTH (Huey).

Miltech-5 is allready working at BO 105 variants for DCS and the Huey allready exists.

Does it have an active railroad network, the amount of trains and goods moving around would be quite big, also are the trains using separate lines of do they run through each other like on other DCS maps ??.

The Map looks great and It looks like it has an extensive railway network looking at this picture.

I am hoping at last ED will fix the "arg 8" it is not working in MT the train wheels and valve gear no longer rotate. 

Yes ED have now fixed the arg 8 in the April update thankyou !

I am sure users will want to run the German class 86 steam locomotive on this map from the old WW2 addon pack they purchased.

Also the trains need the Activation and De-activation sorted out.

When they are fixed i have some nice German and British Steam Locomotives and Rolling stock and working DML railway semaphore signalling mods that i will upload.

I see a DDR diesel loco BR118 (V180) in the middle of this pic beside the "sixpack". Am I right?

But Hannover is deep in the west. Do we get a Bundesbahn diesel, too?

IIRC in some video seen BR118/DR180 and DR130 "Ludmilla" too.
However DR120 "TaigaTrommel" (Taiga-Drum) or "Sergey" and DR100 (DR Class V 100) would be nice as well.

I don't remember many diesel locomotives in Germany when I lived there.  The ones I saw were electric - (one of our sister battalions lost a guy who climbed on top of his GOER during a rail trip to Hohenfels). I am sure there were some diesels, but I don't remember seeing them.  I bet that adding all the wires to the map would be a real hassle, though, so I am sure we will be getting petro powered.
