The attention to detail is more than impressive. I guess this is the map to end all maps then? 😄

I really can't wait anymore! Incredible times ahead!

I had this one as a toy in the 80ties 😍 Before discovering airplanes, harvesters were the coolest thing I could imagine back then.

BTR-60PB and that landing ship and the balloons all act in ways I expect from an "asset pack" rather than statics/civilian traffic that are not available in the mission editor. I can only hope many of the civil assets will likewise be included. Is this the first map with "regional" traffic, with different civilian traffic in east and west?

We get a lot of questions about destruction models, although we said they will be there. We got the hint. A picture is worth a thousand words.
- Damage...
- Say no more.

Very excited this is coming this month! I do believe this will become one of the top maps in DCS, it looks fantastic and is an excellent setting for the ecosystem.

I am curious from the newsletter today, what are the new borders mentioned and what new cities have been added? That's great!

Cheers. Day 1 for me.

Hi  Alphas!
Today we show the main metropolis of our map, the "Alpha city" - Frankfurt am Main, "Alpha airport" - the largest airport in Germany and "Alpha airbase" - the legendary NATO base Ramstein - the heart of Europe in the fire of the Cold War!

Frankfurt am Main is the center of commerce, culture, education, tourism and transport hub of Germany. All the best here.

Screen_250411_152341.jpg

Frankfurt Railway - a key railway hub of continental Europe (an ideal target for strikes on logistics).

Screen_250411_152801.jpg

Europaturm is a television and radio broadcasting tower located in Frankfurt am Main. Height - 337.5 meters.

Screen_250411_152401.jpg

Westend_Gate - one of the first skyscrapers of the FRG (1976)  - 159 m

Screen_250411_152435.jpg

Silberturm (Silver Tower),  166.3 m futurist skyscraper

Screen_250411_152536.jpg

City-Haus.  (142.1 m)

Screen_250411_152512.jpg

✈️ Frankfurt Airport (EDDF) – the largest airport in Europe in the 1980s, is a dual-base airfield: cargo for NATO was transported through EDFF

General plan – giant runways and terminals.

Screen_250411_145959.jpg

Terminal with statics – Lufthansa, Pan Am and other legends.

Screen_250411_151005.jpg

Screen_250411_150749.jpg

and most importantly
Ramstein is the main US Air Force base in Europe. This is where they decide where the bombers will sow democracy. From here you will have the most flights. BUT if you look at the world through the sights of a Sukhoi or MiG, then this base will be the place where the final boss sits.
Ready to fly? It's time to put this world in order.

Unbelievable news, including today's release date in April. I'm so incredibly excited about all the work and the progress and the anticipation that I had a short gasp of breath earlier. @MAESTR0Please be fair, and also publish some Redfor screenshots news as part of the Friday news. . . 😉

Back in the 80's Ramstein AB was home to the 86th TFW. They operated the F-4E from 77-85 and the F-16C from 85-92. They didn't become an Airlift Wing with C-130's until 1992. The art on the tower should look like this:

Truly superior pilots are those that use their superior judgment to avoid those situations where they might have to use their superior skills.

Looking at the EDDF screenshots, it looks like this is an early 1980s map, with the infamous "Startbahn West" not there yet:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runway_18_West

Because of Trier-Euren not included (and afaik not planned to be), it shouldn't be earlier than 1984 ?

The last steam locos in West Germany were withdrawn 1972 ... From then only electric and diesel power, so that should be the way on this 1980s map.

More important are the correct buildings/stations (infrastructure) and routes (logistic tagets).

I have to correct myself.

Steam loco end in West Germany was in October 1977 and in East Germany in October 1988.

Sorry. 😔
