A different level, but because it's completely different environment that needs a different approach. Its makes sense to use texture tiles in part of the world that's almost entirely fields with some town/cities in between. Kola, SA and Afghanistan have a lots of mountains and uninhabited places, it would look more like Caucasus with repetitive texture tiles if those maps would be done the same way as Fulda Gap. Or they would have to be something like 1TB each to match the same texture quality as tiles. I'm convinced they chose the best possible way to do those maps. That being said, it certainly must take far more time to make this type of heavily populated map compared to sat textures with a few tiles here and there. It seems they've done brilliant job, can't wait so see this. 3

skywalker22 Posted March 17 Posted March 17 (edited) Personally I would just make textures for these brawn soil more green, and problem salved. So there wouldn't be so much of a difference between the spring pure green and summer dry green. Now there is really too much of a difference between these two textures, it looks unreal. Beirut Posted March 17 Posted March 17 I do a lot of tourism flying in DCS and this looks like a great map for sight seeing. And I'm loving those big airfields. 4 Some of the planes, but all of the maps!
VFXBLENDER Posted March 17 Posted March 17 I wish I had much more memory on my hard disc so I could buy maps for DCS, especially this one because it looks A-MAZING. The game itself took up half of my remaining memory when I first downloaded it.

I have 5 of them already, running out of space Example: Samsung 990 EVO Plus 2TB for $130. 3 1
VFXBLENDER Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Thanks man, appreciate the suggestion! I already have one actually, just never had the time to install it. But if i'll need more I'll buy them. Thanks again!

I would suggest to wait for the announced official F-104 module from Aerges. But if You want the mod, You find it in the "Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World" section of the forum. I can't risk running out of memory on the larger one and then wasting an hour of time deleting long-lost files I never use. 13 minutes ago, dief47 said: https://forum.dcs.world/forum/1188-dcs-f-104/ Thanks! OneEyeRoss Posted March 18 Posted March 18 A few things I want to do: Overfly Hohenfels, Grafenwohr and Wildflicken training areas. Land a chopper in Romerplatz, Ffm. Drive a jeep from Friedberg to Alsfeld. Drive a jeep down Kaiserstrasse, Ffm and see how the lights of the "houses" look in DCS. Too many things....going to be fun. 1
Stanlesuper Posted March 18 Posted March 18 (edited) This map looks OK regarding 3D objects, but the colors and textures on the ground, roads and trees are really disappointing. I'm sure they'll deliver it like it is, as it has been done since Normandy and Syria... The care taken is not the same as Iraq, for example. We're in 2025 I think the dcs customers deserve something much more realistic in terms of fidelity. Stan Edited March 18 by Stanlesuper 1
VFXBLENDER Posted March 18 Posted March 18 I mean Afghanistan and Kola look pretty decent in some parts, but then they look like crap for 70% of the map. 2
Hotdognz Posted March 19 Posted March 19 This map looks amazing, my hope is that they assigned Dynamic Spawn slots correctly for the appropriate aircraft and helicopters to each base, many DCS maps have them set wrong.Sent from my TB350FU using Tapatalk 3
